DTro
So as I was browsing around here and there, I came across a suit that really caught my interest. The reason I happened to be looking is that just recently a friend brought it to my attention that my Arctic Armor suit that once was camo colored is turning a red/pink color after a few years of wear, so I was looking to see if there might be an alternative out there. I spoke with AA at the Ice Show and was told that some of the first camo suits to come off the line (which I had) might have had some bad material which faded over the years. I was told they would replace the suit for me at no charge! If I can do that great, but I'm really not expecting that after how long I've had the suit, but then again I guess it shouldn't have faded that much. I have an email in to them and was assured I would be contacted first thing last Monday, but still waiting for a reply Problem is that I really...really like my Arctic Armor and a cosmetic issue isn't really a top priority for me to get a new suit, but I was curious as to what was out there. I have friends with a Sno-Suit and that looks really nice, but 1, the price seems a bit high for me and 2 it doesn't float. The Ice Armor suits also look nice and I've heard good things, but again no floatation. Then I came across this Striker Suit. Reading some info and reviews, it sure sounds like a great suit. Lots of nice specs and designed by a sledhead. Huh....maybe faded color is enough reason to get another suit. Anyone own one of these? Flaco651
The Striker Ice Suit did catch my eye over at the show last week. They had regular suit and a suit with floatation that I saw. It would be nice and probably about time for me to upgrade suits a well. My current suit don't float, and it would probably make a few people in my life feel a little better about me out and about on the early ice if it did. Hawg
Say what you want about AA, mine is 3 years old- it's cold, it's clammy, it's stiff-it's a very poorly made product. Only my opinion but pure junk. I understand i'm a minority, maybe most that spend that much money don't want to admit they screwed up. Not me- I admit it! Mike Stark
It does look like a nice suit. I would also like to hear from folks that have it. At the moment my AA suit has a blown seam right along the arse.
dfeste
I'm not as harsh as that about my AA suit but I did just order a pair of the Striker Ice bibs. I'll let you guys know what I think. With the advertised features, breathability will be what I'm most interested to compare.
harvey lee
I have had my camo from the get go and it is still looking fine.Isn't your suit the one that is a bit different in regards to the camo color Dtro? I thought you had the lighter version.I must be confused by this as I am sure mine is much older and is the darker color.Either way, I would not want a pink color in the suit. I can see how that could happen as a few years back, they did offer the off colored camo and then I believe they discounted them to the dealers at the end of one season. DTro
It's almost like an orange color. If I look on the bibs where there is very little exposure to UV, as well as under the hood and in the armpit area, the camo is still green colored. Joe
DTRO, My Suit turned colors like yours did too. Only difference is i bought mine new last year.... Not Sure what they warrenty at artic armor but from reviews it isn't much. on the otherhand i have heard from a few that striker has great CS.It still functions but i wouldnt recommend buying camo. If i was to rebuy i would be looking into Striker thats for sure.
BartmanMN
I was wondering why it was so pink. Thought you either had the fall leave color addition or something.
FISHINGURU
If manufactures were smart they'd all make a suit that floats, it's a no brainer and a big selling point.
Northlander
I will be trying out the Striker Suit and Im anxious to compare it to my old worn out AA suit. Looks like it will have some nice features. Cant wait to get it on the ice.
NEMPLSFisherMan
The Striker Suit are great. I have a pair. Very nice. I haven't used my Ice armor suit since I got the Striker Ice suit. Everyone should check them out. You can't beat the price.

Yes, they sure should stand behind that color fade no matter when one purchased it. As I stated, I remember when they had those lighter suits like you have Darren and they must be the ones with the issues. I know a few others that have the darker model like I do and none of them faded. let us all know what AA does for you.

Traxxx
Is that the Mojave Desert camo pattern? I've had my AA camo going on three years and haven't had any problems. The Striker Suit sounds like something to look into next time.
AaronM
Can the prices of these be real? Very inexpensive
AwesomZZ
I've recently bought the Striker Suit. From what I can tell, its a quality product. I compared it to the AA suits and in my opinion, the Striker suits have much better quality, thus my purchase of the Striker suit. I have yet to test it out on the ice. One thing I must say, being that this is the first ice suit I have purchased, why are there so many pockets? This suit has pockets everywhere. I can see myself digging through all my pockets just to look for something.
DTro
Thanks for the short review. Please add any further thoughts once you get out on the ice with it. Depending what I hear back from AA, you might be seeing a few pics with me in a Striker Suit.
Northlander
I was fully satisfied with my AA suit for the years I have had it. It did exactly what I expected it to do and held up well. I dont baby my ice suits and have only washed it a few times in the 4 or 5 or so years I have had it. With that said I have worn holes in the knees from all the hole hopping I do and have some nasty oil stains on the jacket. I was to the point I wanted a new suit and was going to get another AA suit. Had no idea Striker made a suit until I read it here on HSO and looked them up on the web and liked what I saw and the people that have seen them and tried them on said they were impressed. So I will be trying the Striker Suit out. Im 6'6" and 270 pounds. Anyone that have one know what size I would take? I ordered up a 3X set. I hope it fits. I now where a 4x bib and 3x jacket in the AA suit. Thanks for any info on the sizing.
DTro
Steve, I read somewhere that a large fella (6'4 245) purchased a 2X and had to return it for a 1X. Sounds like they might run a bit large.
Northlander
Cool. That 3x should do me well then. Thanks.
NCP
I have the Striker Brand floating suit and love it so far, I am now looking at on of their lighter versions too? For the warmer days... hopefully this weekend I can actually get out on the ice...Anyone tried the ice in the north/east metro? I think its time to get out this weekend with the new Eskimo 949i and test it out somewhere other than my living room....
Lip_Ripper Guy
I can't believe my eyes. A negative post about Arctic Armor!I'll be selling my camo AA to buy this Striker Suit ASAP.
LMITOUT
This alone is worth the price!
DTro
For the record, this is not a "negative" post about AA. Like I said, I love my suit, and who knows, maybe I'll buy another one. But this Striker Suit sure caught my interest. Hard to argue with a built in beverage holder. Nice find LMit!
