I am kind of dissapointed in the sensitivity of the unit. It is very touchy. I had my gain set at 4 and I thought it was too high my bait was almost 1/2 inch on the zoom (crappie minnow), but on 3 I couldn't see my bait.

I just got back from 3 days on LOW, the lower gain control does seem a little coarse. Found pretty much the same thing, either fat lines or too faint in many instances.

The battery lasted 10 hours no problem.

Mine lasted 10 hours easily too. I did notice that it took over 10 hours for the green light to come on when charging? Seems kinda long. I wonder if the new charger is slower than the DCS chargers or if my charger is wonky?

I picked mine up yesterday and for giggle just threw it overnite on the charger. Had the green lite this morning. Less then 9 hrs plugged in. This is a very awesome unit. I can understand what some people say about the thickness of the lines but thought afterwards if I put it in a deeper mode it might make the lines smaller. Overall I am very pleased with it. I went out on a local lake and had a full house with nephews and my 2 yr old so didn't get to play with it too much as the kids were having fun catching perch with it. Can't wait to use it for Laker fishing in a couple of weeks. Yeah it is a lot of money but I really believe it is worth it.

So, I thought this thing was supposed to be USB compatible for software updates. Where are ya supposed to plug a USB in? And if it is set up for USB why didn't it come with the USB cable?

Not sure what to think of this unit yet.

The unit is capable of USB connection but its not currently in use yet! They installed it for future use for home downloading when they have updates for it. Since its brand new dont expect an immediate update to be available. Long story short its capable but not in use yet.

I had mine out again over the weekend. I am starting to get the hang of it. I did notice a few times the screen flashed out, seemed like once every half an hour. I just seen a video online. It showed the center depth had a feet and a decimal place. Such as 20.8 feet. My unit just displays 20 even. Is anyones different then mine? I can't find anyway to adjust it!

Reeds is one of the worse stores out there IMO. No wonder some of you guy's are waiting so long.

I ordered and received a brand new LX-5 Transducer that is cracked down the side like it got dropped a few times. Emailed them twice now in the past 3-4 days with no response yet.

It's the first time I've ever ordered anything from them and probably the last, they didn't make a good impression on me.

I would have to agree with you on that. Last year when I got my FL 22 from them in the mail the 3 way switch was broken for the transducer. I called them with no response several times and no returned calls!!!!! Then I did get in touch with Vexialr and they sent me a new one the same day but it cost me $45.00 to FedEx before my trip. Reeds is not a bad place to buy minnows, but thats about it! mad

Mine just displays feet without the decimal also.

I haven't experimented with trying to get longer run-time & 10hrs is about the longest I've used mine so far.

I've heard that wide beam and the lowest display setting will give you the best run-time under the current software, don't have enough experience with mine yet to confirm if that is true or not.

Whatever happened to the dynamic depth that was talked about in the icast video? When I'm fishing in 22' and in the 40' range (or auto) I'm still only using half the screen. "Using the whole canvas to write on" is one of the biggest features I was looking forward to.

Sold the Showdown but going to hang onto the LX-5 as a backup. I went back to the LX-5 for a while the other day to see what I thought of it after using the LX-7 and it seemed strange to use mostly because it seemed so small.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
