Agreed the Lindy Flyer spoon is always on one of my rods. The last few years the glow red has been lights out on crappies and walleyes. I added a pic of how I modify the spoon to increase the hooking percentage dramatically without impairing the action. Tip it with a minnow head and the fish can suck in the hook much better.

+1 perch varmint. I prefer no rattles 1/8 or 1/4 ounce. Couple tips use crappie minnow heads, smaller head stays on the hook better. Use maggots or waxies on one of the hooks if you have some. Worms much less likely to fall off, plus some days fish prefer it.

If you like the splitring chain, wait till you try a splitring-swivel-splitring chain.

After attending Jim Hoists' seminar at the Ice Fishing Show last night, I am going to have to try a Sonar type spoon this ice season. Jim claims you don't have to tip it with bait unless you are fishing bright sunny days in clear water.
