Don't listen to the magazine, it can't talk very well. sick

Same as every year as far as I can tell. The Thursday after opener till about the second Wednesday is prime time. Friends and I noticed a lot of bucks sticking very tight to does last night and this morning. Likely a little different for different areas.

Seeking Phase- Rubs and scrapes are found. Looking for does.

Chase Phase- Just as it sounds. Chasing does as they come into estrous.

Breeding Phase- Buck will find a doe and not move until she moves.

Read this in a magazine. take it for what it's worth.

I guess... but you couldnt tell in my back yard. Same half a dozen does and bambies at the feeder again tonight. No bucks to be seen. We are intensive harvest here so that may have something to do with it. But still...no evidence here that anything has even started. We had sixes and eights fighting, with does hanging around at the feeder last year in the first week.

full moon was the 10th, and now for the next 10 days I would think its really gonna pick up, I was in the woods bow hunting all day for the week prior to the gun season and only saw a couple scrapes and no bucks with does and the year and a half old bucks still hanging out together, I hunt north of Osakis. I am getting back out on Wednesday and hope they are rutting strong.

For most areas I hunt we are just hitting lock down around Nov 15th, the bucks will be held up with does for long stretches and you have to catch them with or moving inbetween the does. This is a very difficult time to hunt because there is just not much movement.

In the last 6 years or so many in our area have noticed a major change, not sure why exactly other than there is way to much pressure and 0 sanctuary types of places left for the deer so with every acre pressured, we're seeing nearly 0 movement of any kind, the fawns are even to afraid to walk around much before dark. Everything is bedded down before legal shooting and not moving much at the end of shooting, why because every field has hunters in it, the deer know it, so they hear/smell/sense we are coming in the morning and hear/smell/sense we're leaving in the evening and it has screwed up what used to be the rut, they are rutting after dark and I bet if there was lets say 0 pressure, I bet they'd rut more during legal light no doubt about it, it's intense pressure + we are now unthankfully zone 2 so the deer don't get those 5 days to kinda regroup and forget about us a touch.
