can I have 2guns hunting?

Recommended Posts

Am I allowed to have lets say a shotgun and a pistol with me while hunting next weekends firearms opener?

That maybe a good question if you are in a Shot gun only zone?

But, like Archery said, if their both legal for the zone you are hunting in it shouldn't be an issue.

A few years back I may have made hunting history by shooting two different deer with two different guns within about 35sec's. I had a Buck and doe running together and they stopped behind a bush. When the Buck stepped out I took him with my 30-06 put it down picked up my Ruger 44 mag I had sitting on my stool and shot the doe on a run all within about 35sec's. No b-ull! wink

Are there any limits? Assuming I have proper licenses, etc. Can you have a bow and a gun with you? What about a bow, rifle and shotgun (for duck or grouse)? Again assuming all open seasons, proper licenses, stamps, etc. Not that this is practical but is it legal?

I copied to bottom two points right out of the regulation book. Should answer your question. Also, Minnesota DOES NOT have a CONCEAL and carry law. It DOES have a CARRY law. In the state of MN, you do not have to conceal your handgun. Most everyone does because there are too many liberal gun haters that would call the cops on you.

1) The possession of a handgun by a person authorized to carry and the possession of other firearms suitable for small game is allowed while muzzleloader hunting. The possession of center fire rifles and shotgun slugs is prohibited while muzzleloader hunting. See page 89.

2) Persons with permits to carry and possess handguns may carry a handgun

while archery hunting for deer. See page 17

You do not need a permit to carry as long as the handgun is visable. The permit to carry is for concealed carry... You can legally hunt with a handgun if your holter is clearly visable.

Good Luck!
