Are the owners responsible for the types of players they surround themselves with? I could understand it if the Vikings were winning Championship after Championship but to be surrounded by the most thugs in the NFL and still have a terrible team? At the very least they are guilty of being poor judges of character.

Technically that is the General Managers job, He's the one who decides on what players are on the team. Most owners don't do much of anything unless they are trying to be like Jerry Jones and be the owner AND the GM.

The Vikings are cursed plain and simple, they were cursed before the Wilfs and I'm sure they will still be cursed when the Wilfs are gone.

Correct me if I am wrong Big Dave, but are you not one of the vocal ones that have berated the Vikings for not drafting Johnny Football who has spent the year showing he is who we thought he was. Nothing but a bottom feeder who's current team owner came out publicly today stating buyers remorse.

What criminal behavior has Johnny football been convicted of? Comparing not showing up for a rehab session with beating children and wives is laughable.

Of course Cleveland will give up on jf. They are and always have been a terrible franchise. Atlanta did the same thing with Brett Favre, how'd that work out for them?

Big Dave-

Point was you stated it is the Owners responsibility as to what type of players they surround themselves with.

Then you hang your hat on a dumpster fire like Johnny Football who is exhibiting the same type of behavior on a pro team as he did in college.

Not comparing crimes just making a point. You can't have it both ways.

Might get called a hypocrite & a fraud for doing that.

You should jump off the JF ship now and leave Limit alone to ride it to the bottom. laugh

I think its about as funny comparing johnny clipboard to favre as anything else.

He doesn't go to therapy skips meetings and then invites integral teammates who also miss meetings. Real winner that idol of yours big Dave.

I suppose when Favre completed 0 passes and had 2 interceptions in 4 attempts for Atlanta, you just knew he was going to end up a perennial all pro didn't you? Talk about funny!

You're the one trying to to have it both ways. You were comparing JF to the common criminals on the Vikings. They are not the same thing. A criminal is different than a guy with no work ethic.

Wrong again Big Dave.

I never compared JF to common criminals.

Just don't understand how you think he is the type of player a team owner would want to surround himself with.

Your words, not mine.

Heck now you have him on a pedestal with Brett Favre.

The future looks bright for JF.

The owner, none of that matters it doesn't matter who the GM is, the coach, or the QB, until the Wilfs are gone this team is doomed. If Childress and Frazier failed then Zimmer will fail, if Junkson and Blunder failed then Teddy will fail.

The Wilfs leadership is so poor even Johnny Foosball would fail around here!! Yes, even a QB with that much readiness that is going to rip this league in half wouldn't do well here.

It doesn't stop with the Favre comparison, BigDave compared Foosball to every great QB in the books from retired to still in the league. Then told us we should stop and ask ourselves if Andrew Luck is Johnny Football legit, not the other way around!! grin

What is it about these statistics that would lead you to believe that JF would'nt be every bit as good of a QB as Luck if not better?

Please keep in mind that one of these players was a college Senior when he came out, the other only a Sophomore. Also one of these players accumulated these stats in the SEC, the other in the PAC 10.

I'm not the only one comparing Johnny Football to Brett Favre.

Quote:
Brett Favre thinks Johnny Manziel may be 'young Brett Favre'

Brett Favre was aware of the chatter. He'd heard people say that the frenetic, go-for-broke, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Texas A&M had a whole lot of Brett Favre in his game.

When he finally saw Johnny Manziel play, Favre understood the comparisons.

"I haven't watched him much," Favre told USA TODAY Sports recently, "but one game I watched, for like three quarters, was the Ole Miss game."

Manziel passed for 346 yards and ran for 124 more (plus two TDs) while engineering a 41-38 comeback win for the Aggies in Oxford, Miss., on Oct. 12, 2013.

"I almost thought I was watching film of a young Brett Favre," said the current Favre, who is 44 and spent 20 years in the NFL.

"I didn't think I did a lot of things well (in college at Southern Miss), but he did. And and I liked the attitude of 'whatever it takes' — from that standpoint, I liked him."

The same thing we tried pounding through your thick skull for a year, college stats mean NOTHING.

Really? Scouts don't look at stats at all? How do they judge QBs then? I guess Leidner still has a chance to be one of the all time great NFL QBs then?

1), that's not Ponder's stats in either of those charts so I don't know what that's doing in a thread about ponder... but hey!

C) If you watched any of j-foosball... you saw him make really bad throws that college defenses were too bad to defend. You saw what happened when he made those throws in the NFL right? Maybe not, you seem to be pretty high oh him for some reason, i really don't get it.

32) Stafford is funny. He looks really chubby in his mugshot but he's not really a chubby guy. Also, I don't like him on my fantasy team.

Æ) If you look at what manziel has done this year, on the field i mean, and you're a fan, you should be concerned. Honestly. What's he done? Ran too much and got hurt because goodness NFL d-backs are a lot bigger than the college ones... and thrown how many ints because nfl d-backs are a lot better than the college ones. He makes the same dumb throws he did in college.

he's gotta change his ways or he'll be right where ponder is before too long. He's a pretty crazy athlete, so he may have a shot out of Ponderland...

aaand now we're back on topic! Good luck ponder!
