Walking Dead

I thought it was a pretty good show. It was slow, but not boring at all. I thought the wild dogs was a nice twist. That is something that would be a fairly common threat during an apocalypse. Ending wasn't good though. When your 4 years deep into a zombie apocalypse, and all of a sudden a freshly shaved yuppy weekend warrior looking guy shows up and suspiciously knows who you are, it will only lead to disappointment for the viewers frown

I am okay with slower parts of the show as this show to me is half action-oriented and half psychological, but it hasn't rained in days, seemingly, and a storm sneaks up on them and saves the day so they don't have to drink the "friends" water. Fine, I can forgive that. But than this massive storm uproots hundred year old trees and kills every last walker threatening the group but miraculously the rickety old barn with huge walls for the storm to hit from any direction is sitting unscathed the next day and everyone's safe. I'm sorry, but this is two really, really bad episodes in a row and the barn scene is bordering on jumping the shark for me... I love this show, been a faithful fan since day 1, but they better turn a corner pretty darn quick here.

You guys must have a bunch of spare time on your hands!.....Every time I see the commercial for walking dead ,I'm thinking , who in the he.. is watching this show?...Now I know of 2 at least. crazy

The Walking Dead returned for the second half of its fifth season with a mid-season premiere that delivered 15.6 million total viewers and 10.1 million adults 18-49. The Walking Dead remains the #1 show in all of television among adults 18-49. Last night’s episode was the highest performing regularly-scheduled entertainment program of 2015."

I don't know about you JB, but I'm glad we're keeping this show alive by watching. I might be gone next Sunday which will drop the ratings in half...can you be sure to watch?" grin

And thanks, Corncob, for taking time out of your busy schedule to comment. I know you don't have much time on your hands, so we appreciate it...

Alright! A new post-apocalyptic settlement for Rick to destroy! He must be feeling a little bad after leaving the hospital pretty-much untouched (well, almost). Then finding Noah's camp that was already wrecked must have been a punch in the gut (missed it by that much). Hopefully he can get in tight with Aaron and proceed to "Rick" things up!

I can keep the wheels rolling next week, pikestabber, but I'll need you to pull double duty on march 15th and 22nd.

While I agree the show may have already jumped the shark, the ratings do show that nobody seems to care! Maybe I'm still watching the show because subconsciously I enjoy getting all worked up over it. blush

Make that 3 viewers!

I have faithfully watch since the first episode but I agree that the last 2 have been dreadful. I will continue to watch though hoping it picks back up. There have been other bad/slow stretches throughout the show but they usually make it worth the pain of a few bad episodes.

March 15th and 22nd...well, I'll see what I can do. Glad there are 3 of us to share the burden now wink

Maybe I was being a little harsh...I look forward to this show every week and I agree that there have been "soft spots" in the past and the show always rebounds. Like the farm season and searching for Sophia for 6 weeks in a row!

I'm sure it will come around. I was just a little frustrated as the show can be so stellar and than all of a sudden some really bad writing crops up and an episode or two spins it's wheels. I vented. I'm better smile

The episode was about the group getting to their breaking point. Then at the end it started to rain and it brightened their spirits some. The barn surviving the storm is sort of a divine intervention thing. It gives the group hope to keep moving forward. Have you not heard of an entire block of houses getting destroyed by a tornado yet one or two houses seems to survive unscathed?

I didnt care for the Tyrese episode but this past week's was pretty good. Im interested in who this new guy that showed up is. He looks awfully clean. Is he part of the wolves we've seen referenced?

I understand full well what the episode was trying to accomplish in terms of "letting go" and "faith" and "breaking points" and "new hope," but they just did a really, really bad job of portraying it (right down to the cringe-inducing "WE are the walking dead" dialogue that is amongst the worse this show has ever had). Even if we use the miracle/divine intervention angle, it's a little late to starting introducing God into the mix I think... I don't know, I'm not trying to steer anyone's opinion. Just expressing my own and how I think this episode was a misfit in the bleak, dark world this show portrays. And while the one or two saved houses on a block happens, this was one special tornado to pull 50 walkers away from a barn door and magically topple them all while the rest of the group...goes to sleep after the walkers stop trying to get in all of a sudden? There's no way to show that so they fast forward to the next day? Again, jumping ahead in time is a useful film device, but in this instance it was really lame. My two cents...

I do agree that the clean cut dude at the end was intriguing and I would guess we are going to start the new story arc with him.

I was more disappointed in the "dumb Carl" moment than I was with the miracle tree of destruction! Anyone want to guess what it was before I announce it?

When he put down his baby sister and just left her there on the ground so he could help hold the door shut. Speaking of Judith, she leads me to ask the question...where are they finding all the formula to keep her from starving to death? I really doubt any of the women in the group are lactating after all. It's little things like that, that bug me! I wish I didn't think of them, but I can't not think of it!

Yep, as if the media wasn't force feeding the gay agenda to the public enough, now we have to see it in a zombie apocalypse! They better not keep it way over the top, like last night! That would be nauseating enough to watch a straight couple act like that!

First the farm. Then Woodbury. Then terminus. Now Alexandria? The rest of the reason isn't looking too good. At this point I would much rather watch them walking down the highway for the rest of the season.

Did we really need to see 2 dudes kissing on TWD?

I don't care if you are gay, bi, straight or anything in-between but that really wasn't necessary for this show!

I was really hoping TWD was above this.

Guess not. frown

Heads coming off in slow-motion, bady parts and blood all over, stabbings, shootings, sex scenes, cannibalism, and eating worms, but two dudes kissing crosses the line?

I DVR it and did not want to see the scene myself. Thankfully I saw enough spoilers to know to turn away.

That sounds like an interesting storyline. Is this gang the wolves, maybe? Maybe this gang took out the first neighborhood they visited? Though, if the walls are as thick and strong as the guy claims why is this biker gang able to steal from them? Im sure Daryl will be happy to get a chopper back.

Wow. All of the graphic violence shown in the murder of both living and dead, and an act of love is what you guys have an issue with? We saw Abraham and Rosita having a conversation mid-coitus with them knowing Eugene is "watching" from behind a bookcase, but 2 guys kissing is over your limit. I will grant you it seemed a little out-of-place, but I wasn't disgusted. Just; Wow.

The final line last night; awesome. Odd to see Carol potentially turncoat as quickly as she did, but deep down I know she's on Team Rick. Good Old Daryl; brought a possum to an interview with the new leader of your society. Wonder if he'll take a shower the entire time he is there. Of the whole episode, the thing that hit me the most was Karl and his almost-visible cracking when meeting up with the kids. I am suprised more of them weren't shown with those reactions.

I might be in the minority in that Alexandria has me hooked again; Let their guard down and then get sideswiped by whatever is coming next.

After three pretty bad episodes in a row, this one got me back on board. I hope the twist coming up is different enough from the Governor that we stop drawing parallels the entire time, but so far, so good. I have hope again for the rest of the season, and that's a far cry from where I was after the magic tornado.

I agree, this episode has me excited again! HOWEVER! The moment they told me to turn in my guns would be the moment I turned around and left! With that being said, Rick is a sell out! Would be tough for Carl to all of a sudden be a normal kid...imagine trying to go through puberty in a zombie apocalypse! I think that teenage girl is a spy for the next villain, and possibly the one who took Rick's gun. I'm glad they showed how big of a deal it was for them to take a hot shower, or when Michonne made a big deal about brushing her teeth. We take those types of things for granted. The lady in charge has a back story that makes sense. Rick's line at the end was good, makes me believe that they are slowly going to turn into the people that they've been fighting all this time. And how about the potential love triangle? Where Rick becomes Shane, the girl that cut his hair becomes Lori, and the guy on the porch becomes Rick? Of course, in this scenario, Shane is victorious! I like where this is going!
