Best 12v Battery for Vex

titelines

Question

Just wondering what 12 volt battery you all use to power your Vex or other fish finder.

I can't remember what brand I have (it's gray with a blue top). I keep it charged and take good care of it, but I get less than two seasons out of it. I'd like to get a bit more if possible.

What have you used that you liked?

I have been getting mine from work. The safety lights that are used incase the power goes out or if the there is a fire run off of 9a 12v batteries. By law they have to be switched out ever couple of years. They are perfectly fine and I get them for free. I wonder if they are being replaced again this year. I usually get 3 or 4.

This is about the only time i will recommen a batteries plus battery but the last time I bought a new battery for the marcum was at least four years ago. Thorne Bros had the "werker" batteries (12v 9amp hour) dirt cheap. I was skeptical but the price was right. Best battery I have bought yet for the fish finders!

Power Sonic is the one your thinking of.

I've had many different brands and that started before anyone used them on flashers.

Misused and abused a lot of them and they all seem to hold up better then they should.

I had one as a starting battery in a ATV. That right there should have shortened its life but lasted years and longer then most motorcycle batteries.

In my permanent house I have one trolling motor/starter battery wired to all of the holes so I can hook up to that battery rather than using the vex battery. That way I can have full power when I go bouncing around hole hopping and never have to worry about weak vex battries! I just have a plug in next to the LED light above the hole!
