Topwater bass action 9-3

Cyberfish

Recommended Posts

I got out in my float tube for a bit of bass action. got some on a spro bronzeye frog, and some on a ribbit buzzing frog around pads and coontail mix. I tried the usual pattern of pitching a jig and pig at the floating cattail bogs with no success. it appears the water has gone down quite a bit in the dry month of August, and it was now not deep enough to hold bass.

Great photos, and a great day to be out in a tube.

Gotta love the tricks of the trade. I've seen a lot of fishing TV shows shot and been on a few, and it's pretty funny how creative the film guys get sometimes in order to recreate something or get a particular shot. An old fashioned rat trap set on a tripod just under the surface then set off with a piece of monofilament while a topwater runs over it makes a pretty spectacular "topwater strike" when it's filmed from 40 feet away...

Remote control on the distance pics???

Good stuff Cyber.

Hi Duffman

I mounted my gopro on a cooler lid, set it for continuous shooting every 2 seconds, backed up and took a few casts at it, ended up with around 60 pics, picked out the few I liked best.

I also got some video casting at it too that I will be posting after editing.

I liked your pics too!! (I also fish from a float tube...)

MY question is, how did you take the shots that are away from and looking AT you?

(And, what kind of float tube do you use?)

Thanks!

Bob

Hi Bob, see my post for Duffman

My tube is an Outcast Fish cat 4 around 5 years old I think, I got it used a couple years ago

Nice.

It's tough getting photos of yourself with a fish. Good photos. 60 pics help. smile

That's a neat system you have, as always, thanks for posting them.

Neat pics indeed!

Funny story: The Mrs was out shopping this weekend so I asked her to stop in the local tackle store and grab a couple Spro frogs for me, mainly as a joke, but also because I was curious if she could figure it out and to see what she'd come back with. That pattern frog was one she came back with! I'll have to show her this and tell her she did well!

Best part: She footed the bill. My fishing tip of the day for the rest of y'all....how to leverage the shopping traits of the XX chromosome carriers to your advantage. grin

Cyberfish,

Great photos as usual. I like the creativity with the distance shots & the bass looking at the frog. I'm curious, what camera do you use? If I remember right it's not an SLR. Cool stuff!
