deets22
put some uncooked shrimp in some lawry's carribean jerk marinade this weekend and grilled them. all i can say is simple and absolutely delicious. that marinade was meant for shrimp. was a nice change of pace and wonderful compliment to the kabobs and leinies light. MNmikew
Deets, where did you find the marinade? How long did you let the shrimp soak?
Duffman
Most grocery stores carry it, I scrape off a few pounds of charred Lawry's marinade from the grill every year. A lot of different flavors for all kinds of meat, chicken and fish. I probably have around six different flavors in the fridge right now. Great stuff! deets22
you can find the marinade at most grocery stores lawry's is fairly common. we put them in for about 4 hours prior to cooking, i usually marinade most of the day but we were out on the water longer than expected. it seemed like the raw shrimp soaked up the marinade well, can't wait for the weekend i have a new grilling appetizer!!!!! LABS4ME
watch how long you marinate seafood. usually 30 minutes is plenty if there is salt in the marinade. It will actually begin to cook (cure) the sea food if left in much longer and it will get chewy. Do 30 minutes and brush a glaze on when almost done for added flavor if you wish.Good Luck!Ken
Dark Cloud
Here is another one for grilled shrip that is easy, quick, and real good... Just brush a little on near the end of grilling time. Be carefull not to overcook... And for those that like bacon wrapped scallops, it is great on them also - more sublte than the typical BBQ sauce used sometimes. I dont care for bacon wrapping them because to get the bacon done, the scallop ends up overcooked. So I just grill em then drop a little sauce on them and finish with some cooked crumbled bacon on top...
FishandFowl
I use a Chili-Lime seasoning mixed with a little olive oil for an hour or so. It gives just the right amount of heat to the shrimp. Add it with a nice NY strip, Baked potato, and some grilled french bread and your in business.fnf
hockeybc69
We simply use sauces from Buffalo Wild Wings and grill up the shrimp. Our friends all enjoy the heck out of it.
Lip_Ripper Guy
A simple, but delicious marinade is olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, salt, and pepper. About 30-45 minutes and they are ready for the grill.
ThunderLund78
Will be trying the Lawry's this at the cabin this weekend! I don't grill near enough seafood. I usually find store-bought marinades too salty or too seasoned (if that makes sense) but haven't tried these yet. Looking forward to it. Dark Cloud
Tonight I made some grilled shrimp that were marinated in some lime juice, olive oil, cajun seasoning, tequila, and garlic. For sides I made some burgers, cajun chicken patties, a tuna cabobb, steamed corn, and a green salad...
