james_walleye
I do both every year and I don't buy the fairness bit. Very rarely in our league do guys at the top of the draft win it, or even make the superbowl. Last year I was runner up with the 6th pick and the champ had pick 11. You make your hay in the middle rounds. Do your homework and it doesn't matter what pick u have IMO. All the people that I know that do snake drafts this is the first I've seen people mention it being unfair.
RiverFish
I prefer auction drafts, they are a lot more fun and less predictable.I think it is hard to compare the two types draft in regards to"fairness". We never know about injuries, players playing up to theirpreseason fantasy rank, etc... Auction draft allows you the "chance"to target players you would not be able to in snake draft. brian6715
Auction's are more fair, there is no doubt. Not to mention they are more fun, and take more skill and strategy! You have to think way more about what you do with your funds; where as in snake draft you are better off just taking the best available player with your first few picks, not too much thought process or skill involved. Then again I am a math teacher, so maybe I am biased towards anything that requires reasoning and logic
FISHINGURU
Nothing can be considered unfair when there is an equal opportunity. I do both drafts and like them both. Cool thing about the auction drafts is you can get any player you want if your willing to pay the price, bad thing is they take forever.I have no issues with any draft position I get, I've won leagues from every spot, fantasy all depends on health and waiver wire, pretty much every team has it's 3-4 superstars. Duffman
Duff BitterBeers QB Aaron Rodgers RB Darren McFadden RB Ahmad Bradshaw RB/WR Andre Johnson WR/TE Percy Harvin WR/TE Jason Witten D/ST Steelers D/ST K Nate Kaeding BE Joseph Addai BE Ryan Grant BE Chad Ochocinco BE Plaxico Burress BE Eli Manning 8 Team PPR league (first year down from 10), 14th year of the league, nobody has won it twice. We have too many yuks during the draft to get that involved. It's the only time of the year I see some of these guys, snake draft works perfect for us. I'm digging the 8 team league, everybody walked out of the bar tonight going "Dam, I gotta pretty good team."

LMITOUT
Well, I had pick #2 and took Peterson, so if the success of my past first round picks is any indication he, and the Vikes, don't stand a chance. Sorry!

zamboni
Well, I had pick #2 and took Peterson, so if the success of my past first round picks is any indication he, and the Vikes, don't stand a chance. Sorry! He will have a good year, does every year. The rest of the Vikes, scary. Who was taken #1? Johnson or Foster?
LMITOUT
That's entirely the problem...he has had too many good years and he's due for something to go wrong, especially now since I picked him! Rice went #1 and I would have taken him if he was available at 2. CJ went 5. People must be iffy on Foster because he fell to the end of the first round, although Vidk and Rodgers were taken early which pushed him down the line. Charles went third. PPR league. 8 teams. zamboni
Wow, I think Foster went 2 in my league. I felt lucky getting Charles at 7.
LMITOUT
Yeah, I think that if he wouldn't have tweaked his hamstring the second time in the preseason he probably would have went in that 1-3 range.
snoozebutton
Just read a rumor that Payton Manning could be out for the season.Quote:The latest on Colts QB Peyton Manning. Jake Query, a radio host on WNDE in Indianapolis is reporting that sources are telling him that Peyton Manningis out for the year. Query posted this on his twitter feed today:"What I (Query) said: A source I consider reliable told me he is out for the season. I do believe that the actual diagnosis is still being determined"Query then followed that with: "I (Query) was also told the 3rd procedure has taken place, either Sun or Monday."Understand that this is not official by any stretch. This is a radio host in Indianapolis (that I don't know much about) saying this is what his sourcesare telling him.It certainly fits with the worse case scenarios we've been envisioning but it should be stressed that we have no facts or words from the Colts to back this up.It's also worth noting that the Colts and Bill Polian are going to be the absolutelast people on earth to tell us this. TurnUpTheFishing
I took Foster number 2 overall but this was before his injury. I was the one who jinxed Foster, every year I play one of my 2 starting backs goes down and stays down. I had Turner 2 years ago, and Ryan Grant last year, and maybe Foster this year, things are not as dire for foster though.
james_walleye
That's why I don't get why people have fantasy drafts so early. Every year players go down in preseason and people get hoses. This year its the people who drafted manning thinking he would be back and now it looks like he is done for the season.
zamboni
When did he have his surgery? Did he do it right after the season ended last year or did he wait like Rice?
james_walleye
Early summer I believe and was suppose to be back. Then it was he might miss a game. Now rumor has it he just had another surgery and might miss the season.
FISHINGURU
He won't miss the season.

That might not have happened right before the seasoni also do a draft or two right before the season, kinda fun to compare them
