I went out to my favorite lake yesterday and was going off the lake after a few hours of fishing---I swung over to another boat to see how he was doing. "So having any luck--fishin for walleyes??" "Not really I'm fishin for my boat!!!!!"

Seems that last friday he was out in his 12 foot boat and leaned back toward the side and over the boat went........he had to swim to shore. He didn't quite remember where it happened so I criss-crossed the general area to see if I could pick something up on my locator---------but no luck. Whats the chances of finding it in 12-16'feet of water???

Anyone with side imaging could probably locate it within an hour.

Depending on the water clarity, a nice sunny day and an aqua view you should be able to find it. Most those lakes up there by DL are pretty clear arent they? I know I have fished Munson and Sallie before and they both were farely clear, Munson was a bit more though. But if he doesnt know the general area where it went down, an aquaview may not be the best.

Most of them 12 foot boats will also have under seat flotation in them. So it may have fallowed the wind in shallower yet before it settled on the bottom. I would look in more on the side the winds were pushing.

Make a drag out of a piece of pipe and some rebar for hooks. use gps to run parallel paths every ten feet or so, while dragging the drag. Sort of like the way we used to find reefs on Vermilion back in the day, dragging an anchor.
