tacklejunkie
I have one 100 foot roll of bright white rope and another 100 of bright yellow. The question is, would these colors show up too much to the walleyes and scare them off? Should I get a darker, or even a camo rope?
rattleL
I Have a dark green rope, but I have seen tournament anglers use a white rope so don't think that this matters. Just my 2 cents.
Northlander
I have one 100 foot roll of bright white rope and another 100 of bright yellow. The question is, would these colors show up too much to the walleyes and scare them off? Should I get a darker, or even a camo rope? Your joking right? If your worried about anchor rope color just dont anchor and buy a I-Pilot and use the anchor feature on that. Myself I have 120" of white rope and its never been a issue.
swamptiger
If white and bright yellow aren't working for you, I'd suggest chartruese, hot pink, or fire tiger...
solbes
As long as you are casting a ways out from your boat, I don't think rope color will matter. Kinda along the same lines as what color boat bottom spooks fish less.

Jim Almquist
I use 1200lb flourocarbon. Spendy stuff but nearly invisible. What brand do you like the best ?
Chode2235
I read an article about perch fisherman on Erie putting flags right on their anchor rope to attract fish.
Ed Carlson
I'm pretty darn certain "A rope" is just another piece of structure in the water to a fish. Now.....if they start to pull on it...then worry...as your busted for sure then.
pulleye16
Flourocarbon's ok but it tends to retain memory alot when it's coiled up in the bottom of my boat. If you don't use it alot go with mono anchor line and if you like to set up in rocks...stick with super braid!
FutbolGuru
I coat the bottom ten feet of my rope in fake leaves and use a boulder as the anchor (only joking)... I do love where your head is at TackleJunkie - don't ever let anyone tell you you're being too paranoid when it comes to boating fish!
tacklejunkie
Here I thought I was asking a serious question. I am going to take my pacifier and bankie and go in the corner and pout
scott b
It's one I've never thought of. But, in certain situations it makes me wonder. Thanks for giving me something else to worry about! And Northlander... remember to have the courtesy, and think that, not every one can afford a $1500 anchor. Great idea about the camo!
simple1
dtro, I looked at ff, the big C, GM, BP, and other big box places and cannot find 1200lb fluorocarbon. They laughed at me when I called to see if I could order it. Where did you get yours? Simple1
