Vinyl Siding Identification Help

Recommended Posts

Need to replace a handful of siding pieces on the front of my house and need help identifying a place to purchase. I found this embossed on one piece of siding I found:

P GRAY 7-074-57--

I suspect the manufacturer is Alside as I believe they manufactured my neighbors siding.

Looking for a place that i can purchase more of this siding! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

what are the chances of the color matching?

That's going to be the biggest problem. Depending on age, color, which side of the house, etc., the chances of getting a perfect match are almost zero. There are even differences in color from one lot run to the next. So if you plan on adding a piece or two in the middle of a wall, I would plan on seeing a difference.

I can't help you with that number but when you go to replace the siding in the front of the house, remove some siding from another side of the house and use it in the front. That side should be a side that isn't seen much. If you keep the new siding to one coarse like the bottom coarse it won't stand out so bad either.

Just an FYI, the only place you can buy Alside siding is Alside. The number that the original poster gave does not look like an Alside run number as they do not list the color in their run numbers. Do you know who the builder was that built your home?

Jim over at Siding Identification Services in Coon Rapids could help you out, he'd probably be able to tell you what it is if you called him and gave him the run number.

Well, I took a shot in the dark and got it right, perfect. Alside conqeust 4.5 dutch lap in platinum gray. Basically went to their HSOforum and chose the one that looks closest. I got lucky. Installed and looks great. On to the next project.
