Drop zone is a total riot. 2 things that will really help you are the assassin perk and the EMP grenade as my tactical weapon. The assassin will prevent you from getting gunned down by sentry guns. Toss the EMP grenade the drop zone area to destroy enemy kill streak rewards.

I tried playing a few games.

First game dropped me mid game put on the team getting stomped, of course. Next round my team could/would not capture the drop zone and once the other team started putting up the killstreaks there was no hope, I had to rage quit, which I rarely do, and never looked back.

Seems like you really need to have teamwork in order to win in this game type, which is hard sometimes in a pub match.

either the people who have been playing lately are really bad or this game has been playing great! Only a couple matches where I noticed true lag. Put up some good numbers 20+ kills with single digit deaths last night.

So I just seen a picture of a new map coming on Jan 24th. Looks like Central Park is the theme. It says available to 360 elite members. Does that mean not elite can't buy it either?

I thought I read that Elite members get it first and then later us peons can buy it. A benefit of buying the elite membership.

I bought the Elite, and up until now I have yet to see any type of benefit from it. Heck, I'm still not really sure what I'm supposed to be able to do with it besides get the maps for free.

I agree with the elite! I am glad I didn't spend 99 dollars to be a "founder" and get no benefits really. I have had a couple people say join my clan. To do so I have to download and install elite. No thank you!

Game has still been playing great! Putting up some good numbers again! I must be on some kind of streak. I am even doing well with the best SMG the Sniper Rifle

Yellow light of death on my PS3, trying to repair it on my own right now. At the very least I hope I can get it working long enough to get my MW3 disc out of it and save me from going "hammer time" on it.

I haven't been on FM in awhile due to working 60+ hours a week, so I am not going to page through 20 pages of this thread, but I will say I am very, very disappointed in this game. Black Ops is a million times better. The maps on this game are horrible and noone does anything but camp. The 1887 is back to being what it was on MW2- a shotgun that can apparently fire 300 feet. MW2 is a million times better than MW3. I will still play it, because I am not one to spend $60 then let it collect dust- but I am disppointed in it.

Well got it working. If anyone has a PS3 that goes down with the yellow light just take it apart and heat up the main board with a hair dryer for 15 minutes and hopefully it will work for you. Saved myself a good chunk of change with this method.

Have to say, haven't played in about 3 weeks and don't really miss it.

Yea I have sorta abandoned MW3 and I also don't really miss it. Nobody plays when I usually get on so I just stopped playing about a week ago.

Definitely not as fun as Black Ops used to be when everyone was always on.

This game sucks...I'm getting Oblivion.

I watched a few videos on the net on the YLOD repair. My understanding is that the failure is caused but new solder that is not lead based. The connection between either the CPU or the GPU gets weak/brittle and causes the hardware failure. I had to use a heat gun to fix mine. I would strongly suggest getting a portable external hard drive and formatting it to fat32 and backing up all your data. Usually the YLOD repair fix is good for about 4 months. I was going to sell my repaired PS3 but I decided to keep it for a blu-ray player and bought a new one. Gamestop will give you $55 cash or $105 in trade in for your old system (not hardly worth it in my opinion). If you send it in to sony out of warranty it will cost you $150 and you will get a refurb back. I got a new slim for $200 on black friday.

I prestiged for the first time on Friday, was back to level 40 by 5 am Saturday morning, thanks to the Prestige token I had and double XP.

All elite members received an extra 2 hours of double XP AND another Prestige token Christmas morning from the game makers, so I have 4 hours of double XP available.

There are a couple of maps that I hate. Bakaara and Carbon. I cannot do positive on those maps at all. I can camp, I can run n gun, whatever but I will always get my butt kicked on those maps.

As for all of the maps being the same, since they are all set in city settings, what do you expect? There is no Wasteland, no Derail (Outpost, although not as long of sightlines) basically all of the maps that were completely wide open are gone.

It's a good game and it's getting better. I was hoping to get on and cleanup against the noobs that got the game for Christmas, but Santa bought the kids Skylanders for the PS3 so I don't get much MW3 time right now.

I got BF3 yesterday trying to change things up bit. I dont know how long it will hold my interest. Ill give it some time to catch on but in a twenty minute game Ill be lucky to get 10 kills 10 deaths and on average I do worse. I spend all my time sprinting back and forth around the map it seems. The vehicles would be cool if I could at least use them. I cant fly a jet or chopper at all, take off, crash. Do they have a tutorial? The tanks and jeeps are ok.

maybe I should've just mopped up some xmas noobs instead of being one myself.

LOL that is awesome. Whoever designed the spawn system should really lose their job. They have had how many games to get it right? And now it's worse than ever...

Today I spawned out on top of the other teams tactical spawn point. I spawned amongst some red flare and had the other teams guy sniping in front of me.

Of all the cod games this one has the most and biggest failures.

Had the same experience. Haven't played it since MW3 came out. Haven't played either since Skyrim came out!!
