Thanks nonteepical, I am still a little hazy on the ruling of the opposite side. I am assuming by the artical that the base share to much of the the same base on both sides.

Not to be contrary, but just thinking out loud. I'm not sure that this really qualifies as a "cover up".

Seems like there may be valid points from both sides of the fence on this one. Conflicting opinions? Different interpretations of the rules? What could possibly be gained, or who would gain by "covering up" this possible record?

It would appear that even the hunting community is not above using exaggerated headlines to get more attention. Cover up sounds more controversial then possible shared bases and strong opinions.

Do an internet search and see what this Fish guy bought the rack from King for. The money paid for this thing is nowhere near what a 180 inch set of bone is worth. It was also rumored that when this buck first popped on the seen that Hansen had lawyers involved in some way. Not quoting anything just what I have read. If it’s true or not I have no clue. But too many things are pointing in one direction, politics and money.

Having a world record buck is now big money. Hansen doesn’t want to lose it, others want it. Who is going to buy a replica of the #2? Who will give a sponsorship for the #2? The list can go on.

It’s sad that in this day and age, when and if the next potential world record comes along. It may end up in some court hearing. Especially if it’s real close. Recounts, re-measures??????????
