zepman
One on offense and one on defense...who's it gonna be?My prediction is:Cameron JordanorRyan Malletand I'm stickin to it.
james_walleye
If they stick at 12 ill say the prince. Gut feeling says they trade back about 8 spots and get that 3rd rounder back and take a qb. I'll go Locker. Just saw John Clayton say he wouldn't be surprised to see Mallet drop to the 3rd round.
ted4887
I also think they take Prince at 12.
creepworm
Jake Locker or Prince Amakamura
srfishin15
Mallet, i hope they take locker but they'll most likely take mallet.
goblueM
most of the mocks i have seen have Prince going to Houston at the latest... and locker falling I think Cameron Jordan is a far better bet than reaching for Locker or Malletif they don't trade down they shouldn't take a QB at 12, unless Gabbert falls to them, jmo
Bran32
jj watt or trade back for locker and a 3rd
koonie
I doubt Prince will be there at 12 but if he is it's a no brainer. I'm hoping for Quinn to slip and fall into our laps. In reality I think we'll wind up with Castonzo. I'm hoping for Marvin Austin in the second round.Safety in the 4th and more oline help in the 5th. 6th and 7th round(4 picks?) should be another cb a couple linebackers and a dedicated return man(blazing fast). We fix the oline and get them ready for when we take Barkley in next years draft. soldoncass
Julio Jones, or move down 5-6 spots for their Qb of choice and a 3rd round pick. Kerrigan on DL
archerystud
I'd like to see each an off and def lineman in the first two picks. Don't need to pick up a franchise QB only to have him get hurt because the O-line can't protect him.
pikestabber
We need lots of help... OL, DL, DB, and QB to name four in particular. That said, I wouldn't be at all upset if we took Julio Jones if we was there at #12. I'm not saying he would have the impact Moss had in 98, but he is obviously an incredible athlete that could really stretch the field and open things up for Peterson. This is a moot point if we don't have LT help that can give a QB enough time to drop back and launch one, though, and McKinnie sure as h*** ain't that guy! That said, I would be just fine taking an O-tackle at 12, too, but I don't think we will. For the record, I don't think Jones falls to 12, either. Now that I re-read what I just wrote, I basically haven't posted anything useful at all
soldoncass
You are ahead of rest of us......you admitted to having a problem......rest of us didn't. In one week we'll know who took who.....right now it's all guesswork about who will be available when we pick.
james_walleye
I think almost every mock I looked at yesterday had him going 10 to the skins.
archerystud
I'm not a draft guru but I'm hoping the Vikes get JJ Watt in the first round.
soldoncass
I like Watt also, but I like Kerrigan's created fumble #.Flip a coin....wouldn't be unhappy with either one.
chanfish
thats the fun part, the speculating..having quinn or bowers on one end and allen on the other..now that would get some attention in the division. we have many needs so we gotta make sure we get this draft right... we are still paying for the tjack fiasco...i agree about julio jones..or prince if they fall..the moss draft totally turned the franchise around going from blackouts (remember?) to sell outs..thats when we had carter and reed as receivers..we still took him and the rest is history.. Correction....we are still paying for the Chili fiasco. We could have dumped Chili earlier, kept Tomlin and our third round pick this year. Scott M
Bowers or Amukamara. Hopefully there's a QB somewhere, but we might as well get used to seeing McNabb in purple.

soldoncass
Most of the time the "great athlete types", don't have to work as hard to be satisfied.......and therefore don't get as good as the guys with the drive to excell. That's why I look more for the "motor" that doesn't quit. (Kerrigan, Jorden, Watt) The only time I saw Amukamara play was in a bowl game....he got beat a LOT....I'm not a fan of his. FutbolGuru
I think it would be a mistake to take a qb, regardless of who is available, with our first pick. If any of the top 5 QBs are left in the second round we'll jump on them.I have a strange feeling we're destined to end up with Locker... He has all the attributes to be successful in the NFL - fast, strong, can take a hit, and is a very hard worker... the only thing that bugs me is he's 6' 2". james_walleye
Just 3 years ago critics said the same of Matt Ryan....
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted April 26, 2011 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted April 26, 2011 No they didn't. Here is what they were saying:Ryan, likely to be the only quarterback selected in the top 10, and perhaps the whole of the first round, has great physical tools and looks the part. He stands tall in the pocket and delivers the ball with authority. However, his collegiate stats are average. The completion rate is a little less disappointing when we consider Ryan played in a downfield passing NFL-style offense for a coach who completely abandoned the running game and let Ryan throw an absurd 654 pass attempts (second-most in the nation). I'm sure facing defenses that knew Boston College was a pass-first team hurt Ryan's senior numbers. His senior completion percentage was 59 percent, but he completed 62 percent of passes the previous two years when the team was more balanced. As for the Locker type QBs.....Over the past 12 years, teams have repeatedly drafted players who haven't shown the ability to consistently complete passes at the college level, and these players have consistently failed. For some reason, scouts expected players such as Kyle Boller (48 percent), Jim Druckenmiller (54 percent) and Ryan Leaf (54 percent) to suddenly figure out how to complete passes once they hit the NFL. Having a high completion percentage (60 percent or higher) is no guarantee of success, especially if it was done in a small number of games in a fluky system (Tim Couch being a strong example), but it is a prerequisite for it.
