I need some of your bullhead hot spots, please

Growing up as a kid the pond by the St. Louis Park Jr. High was full of small bullhead. There's a brick utility house we fished near, and you could catch them all day long.

Haven't fished it in years, but I would imagine they're still there. Might be worth a short as it's not too far from your listed location.

only spot i know that i can legally take 'em from doesn't even have a big population of them, I'm lucky to bring in three or four in an outing. It has a HUGE relative population of stunted panfish (2-3''ers), now if only it were legal to use THEM as bait!

45 minutes south the cannon river under the woolen mills dam is loaded with them. You can barely cast towards the dam without snagging one.

My guess is that it wouldn't be legal, it's probably infested... I am too lazy to look though smile

So now I'm wondering what the DNR would say about taking bullheads from anywhere on the chain of lakes and Minnehaha creek to use in the Mississippi.

Starting at Minnetonka, the Minnehaha Creek and every lake all the way to the river and the river itself is infested. It's all connected, so would they consider it legal or not?

I may just have to call them and ask unless someone here already has.

Farquar lake has a strong population of bullheads. Last Summer we couldn't keep them off our lines. The lengths were anywhere from 4 inches all the way up to between 10 to 12 inches with the median length being the most common size. Don't know if this lake has any infestation issues though. This lake is in Dakota County off of Pilot Knob Road just North of Cty Rd 42. There is a small park with a small fishing pier where we catch them.

Just looked at Farquar lake on the DNR HSOforum and it appears to be clear of any type of infestations advisories that I could find. So happy bullin' times for you cat guys. I can even start keeping some when we go there for you guys if wanted. My Kids like catching them. I can just start bringing a bucket with to keep them alive. Let me know.
