Phillies a wild card? They will win their division easily by 15 games. Have you seen that pitching staff? That team is scarier than any Yankees team since 96.

Al East: Yankees

Al Central: Twins

Al West: Angels

Wild card: Rangers

NL East:Phillies

NL Central: Cincy

NL West: Giants

Wild Card: Braves or Brewers

Phillies win the WS

Phillies starting pitching is amazing, but...Werth is no longer there, Utley might be out for the year, Lidge is starting the season on the DL, Howard and Rollins production is really starting to drop off, Dom Brown injured. They just have way to many problems right now offensivly and the bullpen isn't all that great.

grousehunter, you bring up some valid points with injuries plaguing the Phils. However, Howard has never had less than 30HRS and 100RBIs since he started playing full time in 06.

You don't have to score many runs to win a lot of ball games when you have the best pitching staff in the past 2 decades. They literally have 4 pitchers who would be aces/#1 guys on any other team

I'm not saying they are a lock to win the WS by any means, but I don't see anything in any of the other squads in the NL east (ie Braves) that shows they will be able to keep up all year with the Phils. The only Braves worth mentioning in the same breath as half of the Phillies squad is Uggla and Hayward. Chipper is about ready to retire and they don't have anything even in the same atmosphere as the Phils when it comes to pitching

We will see what happens. It's a long season...I would add Prado and MCcann to Uggla and Heyward. I think McLouth is going to bounce back to his 2007-2009 form. Lowe, Hudson and Hanson are all above average pitchers. Minor should be comming up in June who I think will do really good. Freeman has the potential to be a ROY candidate. Chipper is way to old, but still a great hitter when healthy enough to be in the lineup. A lot of question marks here too, but just a gut feeling I guess.

Howards 30HR's and 100 RBI's is great, but doesn't compare to his normal 40+HR's and 140+ RBIs..aka the drop off talk.

let me tell you, I'm hoping to get McCann on my fantasy squad. Hopefully after he finally realized he needed glasses, he will start to live up to the hype a little more and be consistent. And you are also right about Tommy Hanson, I will be gunning for him on my squad also. But young pitchers these days seem to always have a good year or so and then get hurt. It will be interesting to see if he can handle throwing over 200 innings consistently.

[fantasy] baseball is a marathon, not a sprint, so it will be interesting to see how the Phillies pitchers hold up, because non of them are young bucks anymore. Roy Halladay has been in the top 5 best pitchers for the last decade, it will be nice to see him back dominating in the NL.
