One of the bands I've always regretted not seeing live was The Cars, despite the past reputation for poor shows, I just wished I saw them because they were one of my favorite bands while growing up. The Cars - Candy-O - Panorama, one of those CD's is always in my truck to this day. So when I heard they were going on tour after a quarter century, and at First Ave no less, I was going.

And in this day and age, I already knew what the unchanged set list from the first 5 shows was going in, a little disappointed that only one Candy-O song made the list, and my favorite song "You're All I've Got Tonight" didn't make the cut, but I was seeing Ric and the guys live from about 30ft away so I couldn't complain.

A sold out First Ave show with a bunch of skinny hipsters is one thing, a sold out show with middle aged folks packing on some extra padding is a whole new ball game. The place was packed tight. So The Cars play the set and come out for an encore of "Moving In Stereo" and "Just What I Needed", I've had a blast and was thinking that was it.......but no, they're not acting like it was over, they meet for a second on stage. And I'm like, no way, they are going to play another song.....
