Scott K
We really need to figure out where the Vikings will be playing after next season. The team has repeatedly said it will not be signing a new contract for the Dome, so then what?My opinion is either the Mpls Sports facility should just sign the title of the Dome over to the Vikes, then they can do whatever they want with the Dome, if they want to tear it down and rebuild, so be it, if they want to redo the Dome, let them pay for it.The other option is, let the Vikes pay for the new stadium without a roof, then have the state/county/city pay for the roof, and infrastructure needed. This way the team can make it as fancy as they want with their own money, and taxes will pay for the roof, and it can still be used for other stuff to generate money. I think the Govt should pay for the roads to the facility. Even if the Govt agrees on building a new stadium, it wont be built in a year, so I would assume the Dome would need to repaired, just to have a place to play, unless it will be built in the same spot as the Dome. Or they could figure out something with the U of M campus to play there for a couple years until the new stadium is built. Either way, I say something will get worked out, I dont see this team leaving the state, I dont see the NFL allowing them to leave, nor do I see the state letting them leave. They just need to figure out something. Thoughts?
Getanet
I agree with your assessment that the Vikes won't leave. It seems the current roof situation is posturing at it's best. They claim it might not be ready to start next season.I'm not an engineer, but I can't quite wrap my head around the idea that they replaced the 35W bridge in about 11 months, yet it may take them 9 months or so to fix the roof on the dome.I think eventually something will get done in the legislature and the Vikes will get a spiffy new stadium. I'm not a fan of using public money to build these stadiums, but it's going to happen. If there is substantial public funds, the stadium better have a roof so it can be used for more than a handful of games each year and maybe a few large-scale concerts.I'm at the point where I think we should just get the funding passed so the next pro team in town can get in line to beg for a new one. Who's up next, the Timberwolves?
mrklean
im not even a vikes fan and i hope they get there stadium, i dont think they will be in LA i think there are a few other teams out there that have a better shot at leaving and going there before the vikes. But really they need to figure out what to do, i say tear the dome down and start a new one there and the vikes can play at the gophs place, but they would need to work something out with the university to let alcohol be served there i dont think the vendors would be to happy if they lost a year of no booze sales
zamboni
Toll road on 36 and 94. If you want to live in Wisconsin (to avoid higher housing costs), but take Minnesota jobs- PAY THE PIPER. And take your Packer sticker, flag, license plate frame off or pay double.
klecker
Like wise for the people that come here to own weekend homes on the lakes. You can pick up the purple crack on your way home. It will still be in the drop box at the boarder, no one will steal that stuff. Tolls can work both ways.

Brother owns a cabin outside of Park Rapids, MINNESOTA and yep- the tolls do go both ways, and if I ever venture in Cheeseland I would pay as well. klecker
We wont charge you a toll we will just let you look at a trophy. 3 maybe 4 of them.
Crm7290
Being from the great state of Illinois I know that tolls stink and they are nothing more than a pain in the backside. All the traffic from construction, the traffic from waiting in the toll lines, and the money spent isn't worth it.Now we have open road tolling but I thought tolling was supposed to stop years ago.....Its a buck sixty every time you drive through. When I go home to Chicago and back I spend 9+ dollars on tolls. It really isn't the end all solution plus with the corruption who really knows where it goes? zamboni
We wont charge you a toll we will just let you look at a trophy. 3 maybe 4 of them. And I will let you shine our 2 WS rings. Whats the Brewers been to the play-offs, like 2, 3 times? The playoffs? Playoffs? Even when your team owner becomes commisioner and moves the team to the NL so they have an easier route they still don't make it. pffffffft.I love getting you guys riled up, and you guys like getting us riled up, but the super bowl things getting stale, especially when 2 were from before most of us were coherent or born

Just getting ready for next year is what I am doing If Stafford stays healthy, and Best stays healthy- I like the Lions future better than ours. I am being dead serious, too. The Vikings are in very very bad shape.
zepman
You are correct...Chilly's love affair with TJack will prove to set us back for...well, who knows how long???Only hope is to "strike gold" on a qb this off-season either thru the draft or trade/FA.It's almost a certainty that the Vikes will be projected to finish last AGAIN in the North in '11.I think Detroit finishes 2nd in the division next year...and pushes hard for a wild-card spot. Antero
Since the Vikes appear to be stadiumless, and I for one do not want to see them move I propose the following. The Packers play 8 games a year at Lambeau which leaves 8 open dates, right? How about having the Purple use those other 8 dates for their home games? I know the Vikes may have a hard time selling tickets but they probably would not be selling out for the next few years in any case. Maybe the NFL could waive the blackout rule so as to allow the Vikes fans to see the games. Much like the Metrodome for the Twins they could get a big baggie to cover the empty seats. To be fair, the Vikings home game versus Green Bay could be moved to Solidiers Field or Detroit. It would be a win win for all. Wisconsin would get some more dates for games which would generate a bit of revenue and the Vikes fans would see what a real NFL stadium expierience is like. This would also give the folks in Minnesota another few years to decide if a new stadium is needed and how to fund and build it. If the Vikes do not get the issue resolved in a certain amount of time they then could be allowed to move.

Lions have a lot of up and coming talent, and even just with Shaun Hill healthy all year they should be in great shape. Vikings are quickly on the decline, Lions are fast rising. Should have won 8 games this year, they beat the Bears in Week 1, and then shold have had the Jets dead to rights if not for stupid playcalling at the end of the game, and using our 3rd string QB for so many games
Big Tom
I'd like to contribute to a fund to move them to LA. Gotta feeling it'll cost me less than keeping them here. Fifty years of failure just doesn't get it for me.
Scott K
I dont see the Vikings going anywhere. They are the most popular sport in MN. And if the team left, there would be a lot of lost jobs, and businesses hurting in the area. It would be political suicide!
zamboni
and then shold have had the Jets dead to rights if not for stupid playcalling at the end of the gameIs that the game they used Suh to try and kick the extra point? What in the world were they thinking? You have a punter that uses his leg to make a living, wouldn't you think that would be the better option? That cost them the game in the long run
klecker
Suh can kick. What they should have done was called a time out and givin him a chance to warm up.
goblueM
yep, Suh looked great in his form and he was just barely off - he can definitely kick. The mistake, as noted, was not letting him warm up

Thats my deal here, guy makes his living with his leg, surely he can kick an extra point, and if it is because he's the holder, why can't the back up QB be able to do that?
