zamboni
no doubt Rodgers is right there with Brady and Manning. Only difference is those other guys have been up there for a few years and Rodgers is just new to the group. Other than him potentially being a concussion or two away from retirement, I doubt there's few teams that wouldn't want a qb just like him on their team. Never said teams wouldn't want him, but to say he is the best in the league is laughable. This season he finally won his first play off game(s) and is nowhere near the QB Brady or Peyton is. Period. There is a reason Peyton has an offer sheet he will sign after CBA is done that will make him the NFLs highest paid player of all-time, previous was Brady. I still can't believe looking back 13 years or so ago that there was even a Leaf/Manning question. Peyton never gets hurt, he did make a few bad decisions this past season, but I would still take him over Rodgers

Peyton never gets hurt, he did make a few bad decisions this past season, but I would still take him over Rodgers Yeah, I agree with all of that. Rodgers finished the year and went through all but the last game of the playoffs running red hot. In order to truly be mentioned as a possible "best QB," he'll have to keep up that level of performance over time. I believe he's easily in the top 5. A strong Super Bowl performance and win wouldn't hurt his respect rating among non Packers fans one bit. All that being said, a QB IMO still must be measured based partly on what tools they have around them. Rodgers did a he!! of a lot with a lot less than most other QBs this season, what with the Packer injuries and all. Lucky Starks stepped up at the end. How cool would it be for Packers fans to get an AP for future seasons?
Stcloudangler
Ok settle down there Foss. Starks will not run for more than 60 yards against the Steelers, so I don't think you can count on getting an AP there bud.
zamboni
It kills me to say this, but I could see Rodgers becoming a Steve Young. Win a Super Bowl or 2 then retiring from concussions. They will not win one this sunday, though. I love the Vikes, but it is going to be a rough next couple years. The entire QB situation scares the bejeeezus out of me, and I think their record this past season will be better than the next couple unless things get fixed, and with the no trades and no signing of FA's looming that will make things 100 fold worse. The Lions have a brighter future than us right now, but with umpteen years of having top 5 picks they ought to.

Hmmmm, how long before AP gets sick of playing on a team that isn't going to make it to a Super Bowl until he's past his prime? Maybe he should spend the rest of his best years on a team that's got a great QB, a winning program and lacks the one thing it needs to become another dynasty -- a dependable breakout running back. The more Rodgers gets to hand off the ball to someone of AP's caliber, the less he's gonna be at risk for smackdowns. Just saying. Stranger things have happened. Stcloudangler, I wasn't talking about Starks becoming an AP type star, but was talking about the Packers adding an AP type runner to the fold as well as having Starks. bloc004
I agree with you Greebs, I think if they can keep him protected, he is going to be dangerous!!! They do match up evenly, and I think we are in for a very very close game!

zamboni
If I was alive back before the Vikes came here, I woulda probably been a Bears fan. I don't mind the Bears now, even- but I did spend a year of my life living there. People might disagree, but when you live in a certain area for a period of time you do gravitate towards the hometeams

klecker
Ever since the madden video game age and their simulations of the Super Bowl they have only been wrong once. The simulation has the Steelers winning by Four this year.Correction six of last seven.

zamboni
You guys see on Yahoo the video of Tiki Barber asking Packer players what the "G" stood for on their helmet. Noone knew, and to be honest, neither did I

klecker
Three more games than Big Ben. Big Ben averaged more pass yards per game. PIT has a greater ability to punch them in via run in short yardage, of course he has more TD's. He can keep up.266 per game for BB 261 for AR
Driftless
i read where Terry Bradshaw admitted steroid use in the 70s along with many other steeler players. They weren't illegal back then but it really makes you wonder.

klecker
WOW thats a VERY interesting stat I think people also forget that last year when the two played each other BB put down 500 yards passing on them. On one of the worst fields annually in the NFL.
