The Beest Homk Kong lights are ok but if you get a bad set, there is no customer service and you will be out for good.

Take at look at the Luminator led lights in the Outdoor pro Store right here on FM. There are bui;lt as well or probably better, they are very bright and they work.

Your best bet is to look at the ones on Fishing Minnesota I promise.

I picked up one of the 96cm Tube, Flexible & Waterproof (definitely white) for my Clam X2. Awesome lighting!

The wires are thin, so I connected them (through a 1/2" clear, flexible tube) to some thicker wire and used electrical tape to keep the connection from moving around inside the tube. I actually taped around 1 or 2 lights, to make sure that the original wire connection to the lights don't move around. Attach some alligator clips at the end and you're good to go!

I also had a buddy bend me up a battery holder to attach to the side of the sled.

Its hit or miss if you get a good light set or not with b h k. If you get a good set they work great. But if you don't they are no good and your stuck with junk cause they just don't care.

The lights that the FM store sells are good to go and you will be taken care of if there happens to be a issue. Would be nice if there was a bigger option.

Yeah, I suppose having a 24 or 36 inch one would be very nice.

X2 I have the OPS LEDs lights and they have worked flawlessly for me. Both types.

Yes, Ryan they work great if you get a good set or sometimes even get them. If you are unlucky and have issues, you are on your own.

I guess I feel like why take the chance of losing your money and time when for around the same price you get even better with great service at OPS.

I no longer have anything to do with the store here on FM but, we looked long and hard to find a quality light to sell to those here on FM. The new 19" LED Luminator light is a very, very bright light and they are tested b-4 they are shipped.

For $13.51 I dont think anyone expects customer service...

13.51?

I gambled about a $20 bill and got 3 sets of 96cm for $7.52/ea plus free shipping. smile

Risk/Reward I guess. I was semi-lucky and they all worked, but I waited a full month to get them.

I have ordered from HK a few times and the lights work great. I suggest adding a thicker gauge lead coming from the lights as the one they come with is very small and might be fragile in the cold.

Someone had the idea of adding a phone charger cord on here last year which sounds like a great idea for keeping cords out of the way.

There is a company super bright, that has the exact same lights as best honk kong, but they are better, they come with a 18 ga wire pre-installed. Same 96cm lengths (and shorter) available.

Where did you score that deal? I'm looked at the Hong Kongs and they want $25.65 for the LED tube, flexible/waterproof.

Are these not the same lights everybody else has been getting? Seems a bit pricey. The free ones I just installed in my shack are Red in color...which is kind of odd. Was curious about "upgrading" to white but not at $26 plus the hassle of rewiring.

I have ordered from them three times (Best Donkey Kong) They all still work great. I have not heard of any complaints from anyone else who has ordered from them. They are a great deal.

In the past years there were posts about issues with the BHK lights. Aboot 4 years ago I ordered 2 strings of lights and got them in approx 3 weeks. I tried them and one worked and I e-mailed them om how to replace them with no response. I would say that is pretty shady. The one I did have that worked was fine.

I just posted this so buyer beware.

So what do you find the +12" tubes under? That's as long as I can find them on SB LEDs.

I agree, there are levels of pricing for a product which I will rule out customer service being a factor, but I do not include being sold something and not either getting it, being over billed, or not having getting a defective part replaced under a clear cut written return policy. Then add in the 50/50 chance of getting a strip or the entire strip that works. The advice I remember was to order 2 more strands than needed just to have some insurance you got the amount of working strips needed. Too many reports of this IMO, and I am as cheap as the next Minnesotan, for me to add even a minor hassle in my life. I also prefer the incandescent 12v automotive bulbs over led. They suck a little more juice, but give off IMO better overall warm brightness which actually is warm. This from two bulbs verses having to max out every over head support pole. Anyone from the thread last year or the year before that could not get a response, their money back due to over changing on their card ever get things resolved? You want to gamble grin that is your choice, just do not come back and start a thread to complain. wink . Good luck and yes, the warning has been giving. grin

I just have seen pictures were guys have strips running on each above support cross pole and when most order these they are looking for at least 2-3 12-18" strips that are working. I assume they are putting them in one house. I have no clue though. LED is a great way to get light and some day I am sure I will be running some. I could not see night fishing without my led headlamp. Obviously led is the standard now and maybe I am just too cheap to switch from automotive lights. grin

Shack.....it's time bud, it's time. smile

I'm even thinking of retiring the Coleman, and picking up a nice LED lantern for icefishing/camping.

There's other sources out there folks, I'm with Shack on this one, I've seen WAY too many people complain about this company over the last three years for me to even consider looking at their HSOforum let alone order something.

I get too much of that "it's a roll of the dice" vibe.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
