Raider4ever
Please. Either play MULTIPLE good teams a year or go away.
mrklean
Well they are in a weak conference it makes it tough, that's why they played Oregon and Oregon state the past two years to put strength in there, where most teams play powder puffs the first few games they put better teams in there to prove they belong. dfv87
I am of the belief that NOBODY good WANTS to play them... what good would it do them? Bear with here...If you play Boise State and you win... everybody says they are just a good little school team. (you get no credit.)If you lose... then everybody says you lost to an inferior team and your program can't even beat a small school team. (you lose credit)Boise is a classic example of risk/reward scheduling NIGHTMARE! That is why nobody wants them and they keep showing up in the polls. i like Boise I really do, they have a good team but until they can get into a conference (which they have tried to do) that gives them some competition they will not be a BCS title contender. zepman
That's exactly why the Gophers should go after Boise's head coach...put him in a large conference and see if he can do the same thing here.
Nick Kuhn
I think the bowl selection committee did everyone a great disservice last year by pitting Boise St. against TCU. If they had put them up against good teams in those bowls, we'd know one way or another if those teams belong near the top in rankings. But, they played one another so that question is forced to linger a year longer. Regardless of whether it's a national championship game or not, they should be pitted against BCS teams in bowls this year.
jeffreyd
I am a full time oregon state student. It would have been a far different story if James Rogers would not have gotten hurt in the boise game. I think OS would have actually given them a better run for the end. I do not care for the schedule as they do not play anyone at any level except OS. As for the BCS, they are a joke and it is only about the money nothing more. Tired of them. JBMasterAngler
Well they started the season beating Virginia Tech (which was pretty much a home game for tech) and Oregon State, those are 2 pretty good teams. Tech is undefeated in the ACC and will win the conference, and Oregon State is going to upset either Stanford or Oregon. Also, Boise State beat Toledo, who will probably win the MAC championship. Boise State has also beaten San Jose State...now you may think a win over a 1-8 team is meaningless, but look at who else SJS has lost to...they lost on the road to Alabama (48-3) and Wisconsin (27-14), Boise State beat them at their field 48-0, and they were ahead 41-0 at halftime! And their upcoming games against Hawaii and at Nevada are two quality games. 1 more thing...Boise State is the only team (aside from Utah) in the top 10 that does not have a game against a team from the bowl subdivision (D1-AA). Will they play for the national title? Not likely, but will they beat Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl or Alabama/Auburn/LSU in the Sugar Bowl? YES! greebs
I too wish they and tcu could have played one of the bigger name schools last year insteado of each other. Unfortunately for boise they will probably get passed in bcs standings by whoever wins tcu and utah game.
JBMasterAngler
Things are looking pretty good for TCU to play Oregon in the national title game (I don't believe Auburn is going undefeated). I thought Utah would at least give them a tough game today...WOW was that so not the case!!! Boise State looked awesome in making Hawaii's #1 ranked passing offense look less than mediocre. However, unless 2 of the 3 teams ahead of them lose a game, they won't be getting any higher in the rankings. I'll still be more than happy when they beat down whichever team they play in a BCS game. CJH
Not likely, but will they beat Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl or Alabama/Auburn/LSU in the Sugar Bowl? YES! And....done! You can't play an easy schedule and then lose to Nevada. Now you gave the skeptics ammunition. Minor bowl, here you come.
jeffreyd
they will be in the kraft foods bowl, fitting place for them. TCU announced they are moving to the big east in 12, so they can get into another bowl i guess.
mrklean
i hate seeing a kicker lose a game for a team. If that was the NFL that dude would be out of a job, yeah they lost but i still hate seeing a kicker lose a game like that
Antero
Is it just me or did that first field goal miss look good? Can that be challenged? Should it have been?
JBMasterAngler
I thought it looked good too. But did anyone else notice the challenge for the previous play took like 4 minutes? That was better for nevada than if they would have called a timeout (which they didn't have). I'd still like to see boise state (and nevada) go to better bowl games than what their conference is signed up for.
JBMasterAngler
Poor Boise State! They just keep on getting kicked in the stomach! 1st it was Virginia Tech losing to James Madison, then it was them losing to Nevada...now they play Utah in the las vegas bowl! On paper it looks like a good game, but Utah's QB will not be playing! So when Boise State wins big, they will get even less respect than if they would've won big if the QB had played
