Alternative to Scent-Lok Totes???

Hi Gang,

I was thinking of creating my own Scent-Lok tote system using carbon I'd get from a pet store for fish tank filters. Then putting a weather stripe around the inside of a tote to make it air tight.

Anyone know if the carbon from a pet store would work basically the same as the Scent-Lock tote system? Any insight or opinions?

Thinking outside the box to maybe sneak past the clever marketers and save a few bucks to spend on other toys.

scent killer spray and a normal tote works for me has worked the past 10 years.

I wash a regular tote first with scent killer soap.

That stuff kills oder causing bacteria.

Yep, I just use a regular tote with a good lid also. There is only so much you can do.

I use the totes as well but also put my clothes in the large home storage bags that Ziploc makes.

i have heard those big ziploc bags work pretty good

They work great and they are not expensive at all... I can usualy get a couple years out of one bag..

I have placed carbon from pet a pet store in nylons and placed in a tote. Now I gather leaves and place in the tote. Nice earthy smell.

Nice call on the leaves in the totes - I like that.

Like the big ziplock storage bag idea too. Had a buddy mention that a few weeks back, but my memory is terrible.

Both are cheap and easy.

I bought a HS clothes bag 6 years ago and still useing it no carbon just wash your clothes and throw in some HS earth scent waffers.

I also just use a tote that I stuff with leaves. It seams to work very well with me....

i use to use the waffers as well they lasted pretty long to i always liked the fresh earth ones

I just use dry bags. I got a couple from the big C when they were on sale. Just squeeze all the air out, roll it up, and buckle it. Gets most unwanted air out and I can leave them outside and they are completely water proof
