awesome houses boys! I prefer a more open feeling in my shack, but I don't spend the night in it either. it is a 9x20 v nose with an 8' cieling. I made the the steel frame out of a an old dock. full-13894-2728-t&l.jpg

Hey Glock can you tell me where you got the folding cots and what brand they are? I need to add some to my shack.

Sorry, couldn't tell you...my wife picked them up at a garage sale a few years back. Now we use them at a the in-law's rv at the campground. You can get them at the C store in Rogers, and most places that sell camping equipment.

I will post pics of my "new to me" wheelhouse after i pick it up tonight. (8x16 ultra shack on shack rack running gear) My first "true" wheelhouse, can't wait

Dream Shak it is. Pretty sure they are building again. Just back from NoDak with it and the shower someone was wondering about worked great. Just haven't figured out how to use it in the winter.

Bryce,

Whats the problem with the shower, antifreeze and water - 50/50, everybody knows that. I all seriousness though, your house is about as beautiful as they come, no i'm not hitting on your wheelhouse, I'm just sayin'.lol

Brother-in law and I built this a couple of years ago - the base unit is a Sodderblooms and than we finished off the inside - always like sharing!

[img:left]DSC01926.jpg

We did an inwall ventilation system to pull the hot air down from the ceiling and force it out across the floor - that is why there are vents on the top and bottom of the kitchen area. In the wall I have 4 computer fans staggered to pull the air in and down. Works well, typically I have a 2 - 3 degree difference in the temp from the ceiling to the floor.

Bunk and dining table, dining table goes into a bunk as well.

[img:left]DSC01934.jpg

Under the dining table seats I installed holes on both sides, I have marks on the outside of the house that show me where to drill, than I back the house up two feet to line up with the holes. I use one for keeping the fish in with the ice live well units and the other side I drop my camera down, I than feed the video output up to a 32" flatscreen I have on the wall.

Power for the house. Everything in the house runs off of 24volts except for the TV, Satellite box, and wizard battery charger. All day long while the Honda 2000 is running I am charging my battery, have been using the same cheap battery for 3 years without any issues. If I were to have generator issues, I could get by for 2 1/2 days on the battery alone due to LED lights, non forced air furnace, and propane lamp.

Stymie, Really like your house and way of thinking on the heater, vents and use of space. Simple but very functional. Soderbloms is one that I've been considering also. What length? Did you install the windows? Did it come insulated or did you do that yourself? Do you know how much it weighs? Like I said I like your shack thats my way of thinking. Only plan I haven't got an answer to yet is how to have the dinette in back like that and still have double doors on the back. I've got plenty of time to think about it cause its a year or 2 away yet. Appreciate you sharing.

Hey Magicstix - Mine is 6.5 wide by 16' long w/ 4' V front so 20' overall. The windows are what Jay Sodderbloom installs - to do it over, i would go with better windows. I picked up the shell unit from Jay, brought it down to Mankato to wire and fir out than took it back to Jay for him to spray foam - would never do anything but spray foam, it is amazing the way it holds heat. Total finished weight is about 1900 lbs. I struggled with the double doors as well, but would not change a thing. You are typically only looking at a 2 week window between pulling it out with a 4 wheeler vs a truck. If I fish local I can have a buddy bring the 4 wheeler or make two trips! Best of luck with yours!

works awesome... you really need to get the right PMA (alternator guts) and the right blades.... as well as high as you can get it in the air. other then that if i have propane and food it will keep the batteries and inverter going indefinately... as long as there is wind... in the middle of the lake ...like you said its ALWAYS windy there. Do a search on wing generator... I wrote a LOT about it last year on here. Here is a link Wind Generator

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
