Hunting this weekend

With highs in the mid 80s is it even worth making it out this weekend? I havent been out yet and wanted to this weekend but with that kinda heat will they be moving?

This is in N.E. Iowa, but i just talked to a guy that was out last night.( i woosed out due to the heat!) He had deer out in the field a little after 5:00.

I was out last night, lots of deer moving, but I will not be out this weekend, way to risky on losing the meat. The deer could spoil within hours of being shot.

I wont go out this weekend either. Already filled my doe tag and I feel my chances of seeing a nice buck are slim in this heat. I'll take this opportunity to stay out of the woods and let things calm down going into the prerut.

i was out tuesday and wednesday saw 1 terrible should have seen 5-6

Since my doe tag is filled, I may take this weekend off also, wife was talking about going out, so I will see if she wants to go out instead.

Not that we are hurting for water around here, but you may want to look for a water source this weekend and hunt close to that.

If you haven't been out yet just go get out for some peace of mind, after a long off season I know that first sit can be mentally rewarding.

I am hunting this weekend, odds aren't good but I have a doe in the freezer so I am going to be selective the rest of the season anyway and I know I can't kill one on the couch. They are predicting a goofy E to SE wind so that will give me a chance to hunt a new area that I probably won't hunt again this season so I am not too worried about messing up a spot.

Might give it a go tomorrow morning. The evenings will just be too warm for me. Gonna get the fishing rods out and chase some walleyes.

Not me. I am going to try and hang one more stand and move one of my blinds now that the beans are out. But with this weather, I'd rather get some stuff done around the house and spend time with wife and kids. Per the latter, I reserve my away hunting time for when the time/conditions are best. My wife is fairly supportive of my hunting. It's just that I can understand how that would be irritating if she were gone first thing in the morning and evening all the time. Last week of October and first of November, though, she understands. Plus if you have kids, they're only young once. If I was single, though, I'd be out there in camo shorts and t-shirt. lol

Heading out in the wood for a sunburn tonight, going to move really slow and only hunt the last 2 hours or so. You just never know when lightning can strike.

Im with bear heading out around 430 with my youngest boy mite be the last chance to sit with him before it starts getting colder and he is uncomfortable.

Spending the weekend recovering from being sick for a while, almost lucky the weather was too warm to hunt, did not miss out on that. Just stinks I am not being able to just go out and enjoy it somehow.

I went out tonight.....got on stand about 4:30 and boy was it warm out. But it seemed that by about 6 it was starting to get comfortable outside and it actually turned out to be a decent night! Saw one small 6 pointer and a doe! Felt good to get out.

a problem this year.

80's all week would be nice, so I can stay in the woods longer.

Because then, I don't have to spend time chopin wood.

one thing though, Fri. night was clear as a bell outside. Sky was looking immaculant with the stars above.After it cooled down a tad, I'm sure the deer were getting their fill at that time.

Hopefully with the bar. dropping today it'll be different.

It was hot Saturday night but I'm glad I went out, saw a few does and heard some other deer in the distance. They started moving pretty good after 6:00.
