PS3 No HDMI??

For some reason my PS3 will not play on HDMI... I dont know what happen, one day my TV would not display the game using the HDMI. It just says searching for signal?? I will work just fine using the red white and yellow connections but wont work on HDMI. I have tried switching setting and all kinds of stuff but can get it to work... Any help???

Press and hold the power button until it beeps (about 5 seconds). Sometimes the settings get messed up if you have a hard power shut down.

Did you call Sony today? Try the output off the menu?

can you try another hdmi cable or is it a proprietary plug out the back of the ps3 with an hdmi plug to the tv?

You all ready know this but maybe you forgot.

If you were using the RCA cables you were tuned to Imput 1, 2, or, 3. When you hook up the HDMI cable you'll need to tune to a HDMI channel.

If you've been using the RCA cables then you changed the settings in the PS3's output.

I'm not positive but it is something like this. In the menu of the PS3 select the HDMI or Aspect ratio of the output.

I would use a new HDMI cable, and plug it into a different HDMI slot on your TV. Next, do the hard reset and check the appropriate resolution on your TV. If your TV is a 1080i or less and your output resolution is set to 1080P (or higher than your tv allows) you will get the searching for signal message. I did have a HDMI connection go out on my surround sound system, so it can happen.

Press and hold the power button. It will work or else your hdmi cable is busted or your tv is busted.

If you have it working on the Red/White/Yellow cables you will need to go into the video settings on the PS3 and set it back to HDMI output.

I have tried three new cables.. Nothing still no signal... I tried going under display setting and picking HDMI cable... Screen goes black for 40 sec and nothing happens... I really hope my HDMI output isn't junk?!?

yup have tried all three on my TV... Just doesn't make since... one day it works the next's its gone?!?!

Shut down your PS3 then restart by pressing and holding the power button. This will reset your PS3 to its most basic 480p graphics mode so you'll be able to see enough to choose RGB SCART, component, HDMI or whatever from here.

I have done that a bunch of time already and it still will not switch or it wont find the HDMI cable.

Have you tried it on a different TV? Also have you tried another HDMI device on your TV? This would narrow down if the problem is on the PS3 or the TV.

My Direct TV is using a HDMI cable... Works just fine...

Not if its not broke, tell them what its doing, they will talk you through steps and help you fix it.

How old is your PS3? Wondering if it's under warranty still. I had a HD problem with mine and had a brand new one on my doorstep in 5 days.

I have had mine since December 2008. I know it's not under warranty.
