Best Record in the AL???

that would be pretty sweet. right now we're 4 games back of the yankees for best record.

at the very least, maybe we can lock up the division early and actually have a chance to set up our pitching rotation. meanwhile, hopefully the rays and yanks go right down to the last weekend of the year and enter the playoffs limping with no rotation set.

Unbelievable what this team has done this year considering all the injuries!!

So much for the Metro-"dump"-Dome theory. We must have one of if not the best home records in baseball.

It's going to be an absolute crime if Washington gets manager of the year and Gardy gets robbed again!

Minnesota 48-23 at home. Yankees 49-25 at home. The dark horse....Colorado 50-22 at home.....29-42 on the road. If they could only play all their games at home this year!! HAHA!!

I think it will be VERY close for the Twins to have the best record on baseball.

The fact that Rays and Yankees play each other 6 more times the next couple of weeks helps alot if they split and we can keep it going. Rays have Garza against a Yankee rookie tonight. It's definitely achievable if we can keep the roll going. I think we all remeber what happened the last two times we had home field throughout in the playoffs. grin

Gardenhire has never been "robbed" of Manager of the Year before. That said, considering the injuries the Twins have had (particularly losing Nathan for the whole season and Morneau for the second half), I think he deserves consideration this year.

It would be a huge boost if the Twinks could pass NY and Tampa and get home field advantage for the playoffs. I think that will be a bigger concern for them than lining up their rotation if they're still in the hunt for home field as the regular season winds down. I would rather have Slowey facing Texas at Target Field than Pavano facing the Rays in Tampa Bay.

I just hope the Twins can sew up it a week early to rest the pitching staff.

That would help the most at this time. We really do need some well rested pitchers.

You mean we don't want a 163 game regular season after winning a tie breaker and having the most tired team in the post season?

After the past two years, it almost seems wrong to play only 162 before playoffs!

:P

The Twins could go win all their remaining games and go 104-58,,, they still won't have home field throughout the playoffs,,, only the AL.

just a reminder that the pitiful NL did win the All-star game this year. Even a broken clock is right 2 times in 16? years!!!
