fishinchicks
Going out for supper tonight, so dinner today consists of a fresh ham roast slow cooked in the oven with a JB's Fat Boy rub and orange juice. Sides will be potatoes and mixed veggies. Dessert will be a lemon bundt cake with a pecan/cinnamon/brown sugar filling.Nothing fancy, but it does the trick. reinhard1
did you ever try an electric knife? thats my go to for fish. after 35 years as a meat cutter you would thing i would use a knife. yes i still have one along but the electric knife is the best. especialy for walley, trout, and pike. i still like a knife for sunnies but the electric with the finer blades are tops. good luck. hoggs222
This is a recipe that I got off of FM a few years ago and altered a little bit. I make a double batch, which this recipe calls for, just to eat it for a few days.Sauerkraut Hotdish1 large can or jar of sauerkraut, drained (32oz) 1-1/2 cups of uncooked rice2 lb of hamburger1 lg onion (diced)1 can of cream of mushroom soup1 can of cream of chicken soup2 cans of water2 cans sliced Water ChestnutsChow Mein noodlesBrown hamburger and onion; add other ingredients. Bake at 350 for 60 minutes covered, 20 uncovered. (add chow mein noodles on top for the last 20 minutes)Enjoy!

reinhard1
actualy made it yesterday. turned out great. instead of water i used chicken stock. i used 3cups to the cup and a half of rice. the only reason for that is the rice i use, soakes in more liquid. i never follow recipies exact. just me. my wife and mother-inlaw loved it. anytime sourkrout comes up i pay attention. thank you and good luck. Harmonica Bear
Yes - its pretty cool, just set it up on Saturday, like it a lot so far. Used the smoke box (side attachment) for ribs on Sunday, best we've ever made. This meal was done all in the big drum with charcoal and wood chips on one side and the meat on the other side. Tators on top of coals at the end. It turned out great. One note about the smoke box it is a @&*@%$ B^%# to get it attached. There is a piece that needs to be punched out and we really had to beat on it to knock it out. It was kind of tough to do that on brand new grill. It worked out though. McGurk
Tonight, it's 2 racks of St Louis ribs, each cut in half, so I can try 4 different rubs at the same time. They'll all be cooked the same, but dinner will be interesting!
