P-Line

I bought some new P-Line CX Premium clear Flourescent line in 6# test.

I spooled up 3 reels with this stuff. They advertise very low memory and this stuff is the worst I have ever owned for fishing line for memory.

Anyone else seen this in their line?

I have used many different P-Line products and all have been great.

You must have gotten a bad spool.

I have never had a problem with their stuff. In fact all of my reels except one have got it on there right now and they are all working great.

I am very impressed with the new P-Line mono's and fluorocarbon lines. Since GAMA is no more, I tested a bunch and found the new P-Line to be the best I have tried so far.

It may have been spooled under stress, too much tension, and that may have produced all that permanent line memory? You may wish to troll the line out and wind it in on a normal tension and see if it starts to behave better for you?

Also, be sure your line roller bearing on the bail is operating properly, that too can influence line performance if it is sticky of frozen up.

I always use a line winder for spooling up new line. My reels are also ok as I have already checked them. I checked the reels even though I could not believe that all three of the reels could go at one or the same time.

I have respooled all the reels with new Trilene line. I used it yesterday and no issues.

As far as I am concerned from what I have seen with this line, I will not be getting any more.

I have used the CX and CX Premium and both had memory problems. It seems like the diameter is much thicker and stiffer than other lines. PLine Floroclear on the other hand is the best line I have every used and would recommend it to anyone! I have never had a memory problem, line twist or any other issues with Floroclear.

I actually have a machine at my work that could test the max strength, the yield point 1 and yield point 2 and the amount of stretch of any line on the market..... hmmm I could post real strength numbers then!

I could do this as well if people were willing to supply enough samples.

I have tried tons of lines and have found no reason to stray away from Trilene XT or XL or Big Game. I used to use Gamma but for some dumb reason they dont make it no more. I hope they come out with something else SOON.

Northlander from what I have heard is that the fishing line part of the company was sold off and is still in business and that the mother company wanted to just stick to just making tennis racket strings and parts like that. I see that Marine General and Gander are still dealers. I really like how little memory the line has but you do pay for it in a larger diameter line. If I could just get the memory of Gamma and the diameter of Stren Magnathin I would have my perfect mono.
