FishGUY
I want to go bass fishing in Wisconsin in May this year. I have never fished there before and am looking for any recommendations on lakes to try. The closer to the cities the better. Thanks
Nick Kuhn
The northern bass zone is actually pretty far from the cities. All lakes just across the boarder are considered southern zone and thus season is fully open as of May 1st (as opposed to the CPR season around the Hayward area). As far as lakes we just had a thread for this not too long ago and the consensus was go anywhere but Deer. Smaller shallower lakes will be warmer and have more fish shallow early in the month, Most lakes are decent and pretty straightforward as to how to fish them. Deitz Dittrich
way to many to name.. and really only one way to find out.. to be real honest, I have yet to find a bad baa lake just over the boarder.
Nick Kuhn
Deitz will you be out there this weekend? I'll be on the look out for your Cat. Where I hit will depend on the weather. Looks like the forecast is for better weather at this moment. I'll probably stick to some smaller Polk county lakes and avoid the crowd.
kenais
If your going to be fishing some of the PolkCo lakes read the notices at the landings. There are many lakes that have no size limit and a possession limit of 5 due to an overabundance of small bass. Please keep a couple of small bass to eat out of these lakes, the water is still cold enough that they taste pretty good.

Nick Kuhn
He has some secret honey hole he won't tell anyone about. I don't blame him. I have a favorite bad weather lake (triples are not uncommon) that we have all to our lonesome whenever the sky threatens, and it's nice.If he were to stop by Magnor maybe I'd see him as we still have to put in the dock. I'd question his sanity if he chose to fish there though...
olski
Hay Deitz, Your guide for this weekend stopped in Sunday night and I must say I'm a little jealous.
