Genofish
Does anyone have a place to purchase or know someone that makes the Towing rock guard that mounts on the hitch of a truck??
0 LightningBG
Check with RV stores. They sell them to protect tow behind campers.
0 LightningBG
do a search for pplmotorhomes if there aren't any rv places near you. Once on the site do a search within the site for "rock guards"
0 Lazy Mike
Try tow-tector now based out of South Dakota, many dealers carry them.
0 snowman678
I bought my "rock-tamers" at the big Cabelas in Rogers, but if I had it to do over, I'd make my own and save some $. Not that the rock-tamers don't work (they work great), but it would be very easy to make your own (I just didn't have time to do it when I bought mine). 0 bigdog
I have one from KWIK PFYT. However, checking their HSOforum I don't see the model I bought. Mine has a solid plastic shield instead of a brush. I also did not pay near what they run now, guess I got mine about 6 years ago.
0 Ed Carlson
Look up Towtector, very good system. One can order custom sizes to best fit width of vehicle.
0 LightningBG
The one made by Rock Solid is a ton cheaper ($90) than the $300 for a Towtector.I have no experience with the Rock Solid, so it may be a pos, but its a cheaper option. It looks like it has rubber/plastic flaps vs the bristles.
0 JIM C
Having used both types- rubber flaps and nylon brush- and towed lots and lots of miles with both, I definitely prefer the brush style rock guards. Much better protection for your rig from what I've seen. I use a Tow Tector.Jim Carroll NPAA #
0 Jim Hudson
Kwik Pfyt for me.. And, as Jim said, brushes are much better then the solid rubber mats.. Rocks actually can deflect faster (down and then back off the road again) off the rubber and into your boat as your going down the road.. The brushes slow them way down, so damage is not done.. 0 LMITOUT
I use a Tow Tector and have no problems with it. I ordered right from their HSOforum.
