Favre to appear on Tonight Show

Jay Leno's return to his old time slot on NBC-TV continues to line up major Minnesota sports figures for his first week back.

Not only is Burnsville native and Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn scheduled for Leno's first show Monday, but Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is listed on the show's HSOforum as a guest next Thursday.

Do you guys think he will make a decision (not that it means anything yet!) or just make an appearance to get some face time...... whistlewhistle

I'm starting to think Favre really enjoys the spotlight. grin

He'll probably say somewhere in the interview that he's coming back. Conversation will drift away, and then 3 minutes later he'll say no, he's going to retire. And there will be laughs.

We get a great QB, but we also get the largest offseason circus show of all time. Comes with the territory I guess.

GM Rick Spielman indicated that the Vikings "feel comfortable" with Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels at quarterback should Brett Favre opt to retire.

Minnesota has been rumored as a potential Donovan McNabb landing spot, but the reality is that the team won't know Favre's true plans until it's too late to orchestrate a blockbuster. If Favre does walk away, the Vikes may be backed into a corner with Jackson and Rosenfels battling for the starting job.

See Favre is going to mess up the Vikes, he will play his mind games until Aug, then we will be stuck with one of those 2 clowns as are QB. Tell him we will be glad to have you back, but we need to know before March 5th, so if you dont play, we can find a real starter to run our team. Plus tell him we dont want the circus this year, so figure it out now!

Do you really think the Vikes can just snap their fingers and have McNabb in Purple next year...there are thirty other teams in the NFL with half of those who would probably be interested in McNabb should he become available. For one, why on earth would Philly let him come to someone in the same conference and two, who says the Vikes have what Philly wants in return.

It's a long off-season......

I love the circus. Even if he breaks down crying in front of Leno and sais he's done with football he will still be back!! He knows if he didn't play football last year he wouldn't be on the Tonight Show next week in front of millions of people. Thats what he can't walk away from. Fame and Fortune.

No doubt in my mind he will be back. After that appearance last night in front of all those screaming fans.....he can't handle being out of the spotlight. Plus now he knows just how well he can play on this team with his arm healthy again.

I got the feeling from the appearance that he will return for another year....he said he had one of his best playing years and had fun doing it so why wouldn't you give it one more year?

I went from betting he's done to thinking he'll be back - not because of the show but a little mouse from MN said he would be a Viking last year long before most thought it was even a possiblitly and now he's predicting another season for Favre.

Good call. I thought something like that may take place, but you called it!

The Vikes are getting how many dollars of free publicity nation wide? I have an idea that those that need to know have the answer on his return. The ordinary individual probably won't know until mid august. whistle

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
