What a great fish! They think it's over 100 years old, just incredible. Don't let the musky guys hear about this though, they might try to ban it because it's "bad for the fishery" (which it isn't, the season is highly regulated and the limited harvest has no effect).

Ive seen what happens when one get hooked on the end of a fishing line and let me tell you that fish just keeps on swimming and it doesnt even know its hooked for quite some time so I can only imagine what it would be like with a speared one.

Spearing them is not my thing but I am glad others enjoy it.

Sturgeon are a wonderful species and having grown up eating them I know they taste wonderful too.

I am now a C&R Sturgeon guy but I love to fish for them every year.

It is our annual tradition.
