Am I forgetting anything on my new boat order

SWEEEEEEET!!!! It will be interesting to hear how many times you use your power pole here in MN. CONGRATS!!!!

Well I took the new boat out on Prior yesterday and ran the break in for the motor.

Today we went out for a bit and fished a bay for crappies. The power pole made the difference. The fish were holding in a rather tight area in the middle of the bay and the wind was up a bit I started just working the trolling motor trying to hold the spot and then decided to put the pole down. WOW!! It was like fishing in the middle of windy bay on a dock. Did not have to pay attention to anything but fishing. Now I get to have fresh crappie for dinner. smile

I am really impressed with the ride and handling of the boat and after realizing the advantages the power pole I would highly recommend it. I only have one so there is a trick to boat position and that is to realize that the nose of the boat is going to end up pointing the direction the wind is blowing. Once it is positioned no problems and you can run the trolling motor to move the nose but I can see why people have two. All in all very happy!!

Larry Dahlberg uses his for a down rigger of sorts. He trolls cranks over weeds and when he sees weeds he lust lifts the pole to get the bait above them and then once past puts it back down to his desired depth. I am going to figure out a way to put my camera on mine and see how that works. Will let you know.

I also just got the Doc Samson Lowrance HDS DVD so my weekend project is to get to know the full potential of the down scan and all the other features the HDS units have. Never have to worry about warm beverages either the HDS unit displays the cooler temp and you can keep tabs or what the temp in the live well is. It displays that too. Unbelievable what the units can do.

Good Fishing!!

Congrats on a fine looking ride! You will find more and more uses for the powerpole and I venture to say never own a boat without one again. I did fish with Kobey Krieber and he only uses one pole. He keeps a 7+ ft wood dowel with a bungee on the front deck. As the pole goes down he sticks the dowel in the bottom securing it to a forward cleat with the bungee. The process makes the boat rock steady and takes less than 20 seconds. Saves you alot of money over a second unit, did you get the hydraulic wave holder which applies extra down pressure to the pole in rough waves insuring the boat holds? Last point of interest is that I know for a fact a Z21 with a 250 Pro Xs is capable of 56 mph on the GPS with the pole full down! Good fishing!!

I do not see an email address but I got it from Shadey Creek Sales in ElDorado, KS (google it) and I dealt with Justin Russell. Just tell him John in MN sent ya. Really great folks and a really great price. Be sure to let us know what you get.

I hope to talk with Justin next week. Yes, I am interested in the new SHO and either a Z521 or another 620DVS similiar to the one I recently sold. I also fish some of the big lakes in central and norther MN for walleyes and will throw a Muskie bait with my son every now and then. Most of my fishing through the summer is focused on bass fishing. I have had Ranger boats since back in the mid 70's and have always been pleased.

Again, thanks.... this really is a great board with a good number of great bass fisherman and a few of us who fish multi-species but do fish bass a lot.

Have a great season!!!! Joel

Great info dude... After reading up on them after your post a few weeks back it seems like everyone says the would like to have two instead of one. Either way it is a great tool to have on your boat.

I didn't know the new Lowrance could be set up to have the temp of your live well on the screen as well... THAT IS SWEEEET!!!

Good Fishing!!!
