I have black oily like substance coming out of the exhaust. Not alot but enough to to notice. I am running 24:1 ratio. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Same here. Went to the new suggested 40:1 and it starts and runs great!

thanks leech also found this on the FAQ

Q: WHAT IS THE BLACK STUFF RUNNING OUT OF THE MUFFLER ON MY 2HP AUGER?

A: 2-cycle engines require mixing 2-cycle oil with unleaded fuel (in the fuel can before filing the tank on the auger). Some of the oil does not always burn off entirely and will secrete out the muffler. If you are noticing that there is excessive oil secretions from your muffler or that the spark plug is getting "gummed up", the fuel /oil mixture is most likely mixed too rich (too much oil). Add 1-2 oz. of unleaded gas to lean out mixture (do not add directly to your auger's fuel tank). Make sure to use winter formulated unleaded gasoline for best engine performance

I had it dripping and oozing out also i dumped out a fresh batch of that sm oil and filled it with a 80:1 mix of sabre pro.I will never use anything else!! Do your self a favor and get some now! It will start after 2 pulls and stay running. Great throttle response too. Way better and no more oozing of worthless gunk for oil out the muffler..
