he better. if he goes to the yanks it will be the the last time i watch baseball and it will show how currupt and evil the buisness of baseball can be sometimes. its needs a salary cap. i think he'll sign a 4 year deal and if he doesnt win a championship by then he'll try else where. the twins need to actually spend some money for once and sign this guy for life.

There was an article on a TC site about his New Years party that Morneau attended and they interviewed Justin and he basically said he couldn't imagine him playing anywhere else, and thinks Joe would give the Twins a hometown discount.

I just don't understand what the heck the difference between a 150 million dollar contract and a 100 million dollars contract when you make that much money is there that much of a difference. I think I could live the rest of my life off 100 million dollars

Ask Johan Santana what the difference was. The Twins offer wasn't that far off from what he signed for with the Mets.

Honestly , you know what the difference is? Its the additional 10% the agent gets. The difference between 100 and 150 million is an additional 5 million for the agent.

Santana was gone as soon as he changed his mind about the organization. Can't remember the infielder that left, but he was seriously upset about it. Thought they were not trying to build the team, so he left. Bye bye.

Joe was born and raised here, so I would think he'd want to stay if the offer was fair. And I'd say the difference between $100 and $150 million is not the dollars, but the respect that they think it commands.

I agree Bass N Spear, if I had someone from another firm come up to me and offer me considerably more money and a chance to be with a better firm I don't think I would turn it down.

thats what i mean. Dont get me wrong, i think we all know he loves playing for the twins becuase its his home state, and he more or less would love to play here the rest of his career, but when your taking a huge difference in $$$$$$$, its hard to say no

He has already said if the Twins pick up some players that will keep them in the hunt he would stay. Now the question is who have they picked up? So far not much. Now ask yourself if you were him would you stay with a team who never improves itself, or sign with a team that always is near the best? Money , heck he already has more than enough. Its rings now boys.

Let me tell you, it's not nearly as easy as you might think. whistle

He is gonna get a multi year deal, probably 5yrs. If its between the Twins and Yankees, who do you think has a better chance of winning a title in the next 5 years? I know who I would bet on. He already said he wants to win and its too bad but I dont see the Twins bringing home a title unless they spend a bunch of cash and the polads are too cheap to do that.

My good friend's Dad is friends with Joe Mauers Dad (if that makes any sense). A couple of my very good friends grew up with the Mauers and played baseball together in Little League.

Anyways, my friends Dad asked Joes Dad last week what it's going to take to keep him here in MN. He said at least 20 mill. a year.

Of course he's staying, which isn't exactly breaking news if you've followed the Twins and the Mauer's over the years.

The Twins are absolute genius's on how they have/will run this organization.

Speaking of Santana I hope Johan and the Mets are having a good time with that silly guaranteed contract they gave Santana who we knew was damaged physically, which of course was proven by his performance and speed readings. I wonder how the throwing shoulder surgery went and how his rehab is going. Oh wait that doesn't matter because Johan is getting paid if he doesn't throw another pitch and the Met's, well, they s u k!

Go Twins!
