Plowed Roads

Some guys plow roads and periodically stake them with boughs when there is barely a bank, other guys plow roads and there is a 2 1/2' bank that is unstaked, creating a potentially dangerous situation for high speed snowmobilers.

Is there any obligation to stake? Or is the obligation on the individual users of the lake to ride under caution? (I'm thinking the latter).

remember in minnesota snowmobiles can only do a max speed of no more then 50 MPH. going across a lake is something they do at their own risk most people that snowmobile know that there will be ice holes and plowed roads with banks and will be careful and slow down for the conditions.

thedeadsea, I'd have to agree that it is the latter. The only difference between a plowed road, a hard snow drift, and a pressure buckle is: with the plowed road there is a potential lawsuit. If the sled is being driven that fast, where having full control is questionable, It's being driven TOO fast! Just heard of a sledder that went through a group of fish houses and 'clipped' one...he died. I'd guess he DIDN'T have full control of the machine. Too bad for him cry, Had he lived, the next time he 'flew' through a group of houses, there could well be kids that are out ice skating or just playing on the ice. Then guess who dies. mad There is just NO excuse for STUPIDITY! Phred52
