If you are talking about gas augers, spend the extra $50 and get a better brand like a Nils.

If you want to know why I say this, do a search in this forum for my experience with a new Eskimo Mako a few years ago.

4 years on my Eskimo Mako with no problems. Only nuisance I've had is the on/off switch and choke lever are right under the pull rope. I frequently hit one or both during start-up. Don't know what the switch/lever location are for the new ones.

IMO the eskimo is a great auger for the $. Sure their not as fast as others but mine is 10-15 years old and for the 2 years I've had it I've never had a problem with it. My buddy that I got it from had it for 8 or 9 years and it never gave him any problems either.

I have an Eskimo Mako. I've had it 3 years and runs good. The only issue I have is I cannot find a new gas cap for it. I have checked FF, where I bought it, also Gander and other sporting stores. Everybody seems to carry Jiffy or SM but not the Eskimo gas caps. Jiffy or SM will not fit on the Eskimo gas tank.

Call reeds. They had one to my door within a couple days.

I just sold my z71 shark it always started in half a pull. It always started gand ran great. It was just too heavy to drill lots of holes a day. I don't think the blades are pitched right though cuz from day 1 I had to throw my whole body into it to get it to cut.

Have had a 10" Barracuda for 6-7 years. I have had zero problems. Sharpen the blades once a year and put fuel in. Never takes more than two or three pulls to start. It is pretty loud compared to other brands but I don't care as long as it starts and drills holes!

Have had a Stingray for 4 years. Love it. Starts and runs great. Same with my cousin...has had his for 5 yrs, and he just hammers it. Keeps right on going. If you can't find that cap, give Ardisam (Eskimo) a call. Great customer service.

I have one of the original Sharks with the Italian chain saw engine. It is probably about 7-8 years old. It has been a great auger. Always starts and not too heavy. I have a 10" Strikemaster chipper drill that I use on it sometimes. I can't seem to make it bog down.
