December Back Deck

Haven't had a chance to shoot much nature stuff lately. Tried to keep the camera limber the last couple of days by taking a few off the back deck. All with the 50D and 100-400mm.

These are all nice but I love the bluejay and the chickadee. He looks like he's all fluffed up there.

The chickadee is perfect, but I loved seeing all the goldies at your feeder, too. That's quite a crew you have there.

I had a house sparrow in my backyard Your backyard rocks.

I enjoy how much color that siskin is showing in the tail and the primaries, as a species they seem to be quite variable in terms of how much of that color is going to show, this one is a beauty!

Wow, your feeders are really hopping. Mine are dead other then a few chickadees. My vote goes to the chickadee shot.

That first Siskin shot is great along with the fluffy Jay. I have to say I am jealous of the Grosbeaks- I want some at my feeders

Hey, thanks all! I do get a good variety at my feeder. The siskens just showed up a couple of days ago. Had hoped to see some regulars - red and white breasted nuthatches, downy and hairy woodpeckers - but they were shy for a couple of days. No redpolls yet. These were all shot by grabbing the camera from the coffee table and shooting through the glass on the patio door. One of these days I'll have to get serious and set up the blind with my 300 2.8.
