CJH
We used to add extra fat to our Golden's food growing up in the winter. The air is really dry right now.
pinkfloyd4ever
My dad grew up on a farm, had many dogs, for me growing up we had the family dog, every sunday the dog got one raw egg. My dad would say it was good for their skin & coat. As a teenager I would think gross, but like clock work every sunday after church the dog got an egg. I remember being with the dog and my dad at the vet (she was boarded and groomed one weekend and the groomer said she found a lump, off to the vet- that is how I remember this whole event and lump was harmless) and the vet remarking about the dogs coat and my dad saying "one raw egg a week" maybe just an old farmers wives tale he grew up with, I don't know and just my two cents

Todd Caswell
We give fish oil to our dog. yep a fish oil pill at with each feeding makes a huge difference, I don't know if it makes a difference or not but I always poke a small hole on the caplet and squeze the oil on the food. caseymcq
Another option to a capsle / pill is a bottle of fish oil. It it sold pet stores, vets, and a number of the big box stores have it in with the vitamins.
cutter08
Like others have said fish oil capsule. My dog has real dry skin and bad allergies. Vet told me to use them and they work good.
wolfman-k
I think my Lab thinks they are candy! He crunches & chews them every time I give him one. They do seem to help. Alot of times, the drug stores have them bogo-buy one get one.

Kyle
I recently had this same problem. I got my dog on a fish oil pill, and I turn on the humidifier at night. Cured him in a week.
mudslinger
Ralph, my Dane looks a lot like yours. Mine came from a breeder in Isanti and is 3.5yrs old. He is brindle and by shape and figure they look like possible litter mates. Could it be??? Odd story, we had a woman come up to us at the Pet Einstein store and she knew she welped our pup 3 years prior and she even knew his litter name right on the button. Ours is out of Northwind Kennels. He'll be two in March. We love him!
