What is the best spring bobber?

I usually fish gills with a UL rod and seem to due pretty well. The articles I have been reading say I am missing alot of fish since I don't use a spring bobber. The few times I have used them I got frustrated because they keep freezing up. I was using the pen spring type. Any suggestions or tips?

There is nothing close to the St Croix spring bobber.

The rod is debateable. The springbobber really is not.

It's far and away the best springbobber on the market.

Single foot eyelet buy a grommet to inset in eyelet attach eyelet to top of rod near tip. Can use shrink tube or epoxy. Think the grommet would be size 8 but take the eyelet to the hardware store to make sure. Now just buy the St Croix spring weight you want and there you go. Less than $15. The Legend rods are just OK but the spring bobber is hard to beat.
