I like to keep a jig rod in the shack rigged up for walleyes, I've found when using a live decoy on several lakes walleyes will sometimes get some interest, obviously they aren't going to hit a huge sucker but throw a little rattle spoon down tipped with a minnow, it can be deadly. And then its just like catching them on a huge aquaview ha ha

When you see the pan fish disappear, somethings happening. I keep 2 rods ready, 1 for pan fish, 1 for walleye. I have seen some of the biggest wally's while spearing.

I tried it but it's more fun spearing then catching them with hook and line so I quit angling while spearing.

I usually have someone with me useing rattle reels. They soon find out that if they get a bite and it comes into my spear hole it gets stabbed.

sometimes if i am bored ill bring the panfish rod along, one day i had a buddy with me all he did was angle and had a blast

I pan fish while i'm spearing.

I think it helps bring the pike in when your'e catching them and releasing them.

Rarely for me, (but I love having that option).

For fish other than northerns, would rather watch them than catch them, especially the big bass.

They are a trip, and they hang out for ever in the hole.

I think the option to angle while spearing helps keep kids interestd in the sport.

It is something else they can do or watch to keep their interest up.

ha that's how i keep my gf interested or else she thinks its dumb to just look down a hole all day
