A nice powerfull fasher. The only issue that I had with mine was the support cable, which I immediately chopped off and threw in the garbage. This you may have noticed has caused a few aiming problems with a few people, who couldnt spot their jigs ect.

The best feature is the new colour palette. Some reviews call it a "flavor of the week" option, however, when fishing in deep cover, you can separate, theromocline from weeds, baitfish from weeds, and fish from baitfish, making this unit a killer in a crappy hole.

I have the Ice-55, I just got it this year, so I cant tell you the good or the bad, but I know I cant wait to use it! I hope for a couple weeks from now, but we will see how the weather holds out!

It sounds as though you will be using yours before I do, let us know whatt you think of it!

The only drawback I have seen with the unit is the battery consumption. The backlight feature uses a lot of juice when on. They are the only manufacture that does not list the power draw of there units. They are also the only flasher to come with 9 amp hour battery. From what i have seen if you are going on a weekend trip bring another battery. Vexilar uses 275 mah while marcums take 350mah to the hummingbird which uses ???

My guess would be 400 and more with the backlight on. My vex goes 24 hours on a 7amp hour battery. From what ive seen the hummingbirds fall short of that with a 2 pound heavier battery. Good luck

I used my Ice 55 on Winnie last year and had 65% battery left at the end of the day. I didn't use the backlight, but have in the past and didn't think it drew a ton of power.

In my experience, my friends Marcum LX 5 runs out of juice, way before my Bird does.

Tonkapat, do you have an Ice 55 or ar e you just guessing?

Forgot to mention that I really like my Ice 55 and haven't had any problems/regrets getting it. I love the display, its the best one out there. Very easy to use, love the easy adjustability of the zoom. The sensitivity has been great and definitely helped me catch more fish, which is the point!!!

I bought the 55 last year, had no problems with it. I really like the fact that I can change the colors, can see the purple better. The only problem I heard so far is you will get interference if you are fishing in same house with another HB. I have not fished next to one yet, but a marum or vex does nothing to mine. Rick

Well i tested this thing out over the past week. it works awesome. colors show nicely and no issues at all. Used it with the backlight on for 8 hours and still showed 60% battery when i was finished. WoW battery life is not an issue!! grin

I have fished 2 Birds within 4 ft of each other with no interference with each other.

I used mine this weekend for 2 different outings and had no issues with battery life.

My trial run with my new Ice 55 went well but there is still a lot more situations I look forward to testing.

Fished 4' away from an LX3 with absolutely no interference by either flasher. That was nice as there was no need to fool with IR. We could also run the gain with both flashers at its optimal setting according to the bottom content and jigs without the slightest blimp out of either one of them. Next time out I'll be testing the Ice 55 for gills amongst the weeds.

I've owned all three-vexilar,marcum and hummingbird 55. Stay away from the hummingbirds. You'd have to turn your gain up to 7 or 8 just to see you jig. I do like to larger screen but the clarity isn't so great. Two cords to drop down the hole on the transduser; one is not need anyways????

I have no complaints about vexilar or marcum. Marcum tends to use alot of power wich drains your battery. The fine lines, clarity and split screen; I like on the marcum.

Purchased the ICE 45, last year and LOVE IT. We were out on the lake on Sunday and Dad was having interference on his FL18 from the guy fishing in the house next to us... I know this because when he would turn his off and move around the hump we were fishing it would go away and then come back when he turned it back on. Love the ICE45, and looking forward to using it more!

You must not have been using it right. I was out today and only had it turned up to 4 in the wide cone to see a tiny jig.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
