Anyone ever tried turtle lake in shoreview? It looks like a bowl but the info on lakefinder (dnr) points to some possibility. After looking at an areal though i have to believe that if there is anything alive in the lake, it must be pretty used to seeing lures in the water.

Turtle used to kick out large bass back in the day before it got hammered. Give it a shot. Water level was really low this Summer.

Ice forming on the rum river the last couple days

got out again on a bigger metro lake, only fished about 60 yards off shore and caught some small panfish

Bowstring is now covered with a layer of ice which is covered with snow. Too thin but it is a start.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think that a couple fish is worth a swim right now, no matter how bad I want to get out.

theyre saying 6 inches of snow are possible on wed. what kinda ice do you think we'll have before that gets here?

If we really get 6 inches of snow Wednesday I would hope the ice disappears just before it falls and then reappears when it stops. Probably a couple inches in the metro and more as you go north, but it will really depend on the lake's depth, wind conditions, etc. more than anything else.

accu weather talking only about a couple in of snow, if we do get 6 or more inches of snow it will mess everything up

I heard we could get a few inches of snow...1-2. Haven't heard about a possible 6". Going to remain cold though, high's in the 20's.

News was saying chances of higher totals were in SE MN. Cities to get 2-4 total, less further north.
