Jordyn Kaufer
with the 7 day forcast, theyre forcasting till like sunday its going to stay below freezing and drop severly at night! that means........ICE SOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!gonna be awsome walking out on a lake with 3-4in of ice! WOOT!
bigbad401
I wish the highs were in the teens and the lows were single digits or below zero. Now that would put real nice ice on the lakes rather quickly. But I suppose, beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully by the end on Dec we can be driving out on most lakes. OnAFly
I'm just surprised the cold they forecasted a week ago is actually coming this time. They've been forecasting cool downs all month and it would just get pushed further and further back. ICE CAN NOT GET HERE SOON ENOUGH!!!!! I've been using a jar of water to test out which jigs and jig/plastic combos look the best. So far, flutter jigs look like they could be very deadly. Jordyn Kaufer
i would agree with the teens and the below zero temps. im hoping that there will be a good start to the ice making by the weekend! hopefuly 2inches at least

Doesn't seem to work as well on aggressive fish, but for whatever reason it works great when the bites slows. A local pond that I fish was half covered in ice on Monday, I'm going to check it out again today. If I'm lucky I'll be fishing by the beginning of the week. I love Arctic Armor for early ice. deadeye
Lol ya I guess a jar works. I like the bathtub. It should be pretty decent if it keeps holding out. I am thinking the 12th will be the first safe day out for me. Last year we snuck out on a little puddle on the way to the ice show but I think its gonna be a little later than that this year. The 12th should be prime ice time.
RebelSS
Mozy: What color Flutter Jigs seem to work best for you?
mozy
Pink/white or black seemed the best.

JSK76
I just looked at a ice fish log I started 2 years ago and I was fishing on Nov. 29th last year, and Dec 7th the year before, and it was -11 that day. We could have had ice a bit before these dates but I would have had to wait for the weekend to get out.
Snag
My jigs are sorted, new line on some of the rods, tip ups ready, vex charged, just need some ice. If the wind dies down we may have some fishable lakes in the metro by Tuesday or Wednesday.
