Nick Kuhn
Quote:This schedule also guarantees that regardless of a given team's final divisional placement in the previous season, the 16 games that team plays in this current season will consist of: * four games against opponents who finished the previous season in first place in their respective divisions, * four games against opponents who finished the previous season in second place in their respective divisions, * four games against opponents who finished the previous season in third place in their respective divisions, and * four games against opponents who finished the previous season in fourth place in their respective divisions. It just so happens that the Vikings schedule was made pretty lopsided. They have 3 games left against last years division winners, and 1 against a current division leader. By the end of the season every team will have been thoroughly tested, so don't say it'll be the playoffs before they face a challenge. LMITOUT
Last year's division winners: Giants, Carolina, and Arizona........not exactly playing at their 2008 level. But, the Giants could play tough and who knows with Arizona's offense...that could be a good game too.....if Warner is playing. If Lienart is playing then count it as another cupcake for the Vikes.
zamboni
Last year's division winners: Giants, Carolina, and Arizona........not exactly playing to their 2008 level. They don't foresee that when they make the schedule. Nor when they made the Vikes schedule who would be decent. The "soft-schedule" argument holds no water. LMITOUT
Of course it doesn't and I never said it did. I've never said it's the Viking's fault for their schedule turning out to be soft. But I did say it's only going to hurt them in the end, and that holds water....a lot of water.

LMIT knows there really isn't such a thing as an easy schedule in NFL just ask the Steelers and the Bengals. He did reference the 98 season again.... still having Night-mares Eh LMT?... Born2Fish
Regardless of the "cupcake" schedule, we have beaten the teams we were supposed to beat, and lost against a team that we had the chance to lose too. The vikes have put up pretty good offensive numbers this year, and Favre is becoming more consistent throwing to the wideouts. And if this "cupcake" schedule is going to be the demise of the Vikings, I think that every other playoff team will be in the same shoes. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 24, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 24, 2009 As for above .500 teams, The Vikings haven't been tested except for once against Pitt and they lost. And if we had beaten Pit it wouldn't have counted as a test in your scenario as they would be a .500 team. If the Pack hadn't lost to us twice they would be 8-2 so of course those two games don't count as a test either and so on and so forth. Basketball and Baseball are NOT Football. The best teams always have easier teams by default LMIT
bgmny
Is there an echo? Is it playoff time in Green bay already?
zamboni
Of course it doesn't and I never said it did. You have been saying for the past week that the Vikes have had nothing but sub par opponents, how are you NOT saying that?
