"no"

says in rules can't post obviously dead or dying fish photos.

Will have my taxidermist I pick skin it on spot and will grill it that night so the meat doesn't go to waste. Has been 7 years since I mounted a trout.

no pics.

i kept it due to it bleeding heavily and have a photo but is held as obvious dead fish. Don't want to offend anyone here.

Good for you Len, too bad you have to tell everyone that you kept a legal fish due to heavy bleeding and someone still tries to hammer you with the "replica mount" [PoorWordUsage]. Congrats on the Big Brown it's a beauty.

Congratulations Len. You make me jealous. Wish I had Iowa so close to me. The idea that Iowa is a put and take fishery is an obvious misconception. This is not a released brooder. Fins in excellent shape. What you have here is a WILD trophy German brown trout. Incredible crisp brown spots. The big browns have that beautiful abalone (iridescent blue/green) hue around their cheek and gill plate area. Krystal flash color.

i didn't see the heavily bleeding part, and i take offense to "hammering" him. i respect len and was simply curious, as i believe was indicated by my second post

don't worry about it.

enough bad blood in the trout area.

Yep, that's a keeper.

In regards to getting it mounted, I would have it freeze dried. These fish are so oily and a skin mount can and more than likely will bleed through the skin and paint over the years in the head area.

Check out Rhinehardt Taxidermy right in Wisc.

They can do a world class job for you on that trout.

was in a put and take targeting dumb bows.

clear water. Came out from under a big boulder

and freight trained the size 9 panther. Could see blood right

after hook up.

Tried to revive with no luck.

First big trout kept in almost 8 years.

I don't release obviously dying fish.

This would be an atrocity against nature.
