Ted Thompson Thumbs Down

Aaron Rodgers has a couple years on his contract left and by that time Favre will retire... We pick up Aaron as a replacement for Favre and by that time Rodgers will know when to throw the ball and when to hang on to it. Farve makes $12 - $13 mill per year so the Vikes will have plenty of money to spend on Rodgers. Vikes go after and pay their free agents i.e Jared Allen and Steve Hutchinson so money won't be a problem.

The biggest problem I see with that move is Percy Harvin wears #12 so Aaron Rodgers would need to pick a new number.

There are ways to play around a bad offensive line. How about try a 3 or 5 step drop and actually THROW THE BALL before the receiver comes out of his break. He's good but not as good as some would like to think.

BINGO

Manning, Brees....among the least sacked in the league; yet packer rubes like to think his name be metioned in that company.....sorry, nope. He's good but he is far from elite.

All of this is true, but you know what beats all of this, the Walker trade with Dallas.. How many Super Bowls did Dallas win with the trade?? You can say what you want about Thompson (yeah he is bad) but nothing will beat that one, who was the GM at the time? why does Lynn come to mind?

Who has ever mentioned his name in the same company of Manning and/or Brees?

I mean come on, really.

They don't get it LMITOUT...This is Rodgers 2nd year as a starter, and he's playing well with a horrible O-Line (Thanks Ted)! Who's saying he's in the same company as Manning or Brees? I know he's not in the same company as T-Jack (the purples future starter)LOL. sick Rodgers will have a great career!!!

The Vikings better win a championship this year because it's back to.....T-JACK!!!! sick Is it enough to win the division and a playoff game? Oh No....What if they make it to the Super Bowl and lose???? 0-5 That's a record I would like Favre to be a part of! wink

We've heard this same line from you, and why is it "All or Nothing" this year? Sure, we have Favre, he gives us the best chance to win. Why do you think that next year the Vikes automatically revert back to T-Jack? (BTW....all you T-Jack supporters, just look at how badly a packer fan[badger] wants the purple to go back to Jackson and that should answer all your questions about his capablity of being a legit NFL starter)

The Vikings and their fans are enjoying this season, and the ride it will bring....Packers season is already on its deathbed in week 8.....have fun w/ that.

The Packer fans enjoyed the last season Favre was there ending up 13-3. Funny....the Viking fans enjoyed the Packers playoff loss to the Giants. Did the Vikings sign Favre to go deep into the playoffs????? I think not...the pressure is on THIS YEAR!!! Who will be the QB next year??? I'm hoping T-Jack. grin

The Vikings are the best team in the division by far. I've always said I enjoy watching the talent on the Vikings and other NFL teams. They were favored to win the SB if Favre was with the team....he is....win it! There comes a time when winning the division and a couple of playoff games isn't enough. Of course being tied with Buffalo for the worst SB record (0-4) is a monkey that could turn into a Gorilla! wink

The Vikes winning the SB can be weakly equated to the apollo mission to the moon; odds are against you and you have to be lucky.

Well....right now they look pretty darn good! Favre looked great the first half of the season with the Jets last year and then ended up with 22Td's and 22Int's....The Jets didn't have the Williams Wall & AP though....the Vikings are a much better team.

I don't see how you can say Rodgers is going to be an elite QB in the future unless you think he becomes elite in the next couple of games. He has maybe two more games before he's disabled. laugh

I'll take those Apollo moonshot odds (Six out of seven, or 86%). As great as the Vikings have looked this season, I will agree you still need a little luck to win the Superbowl. Although they have been hard pressed in three of their wins (SF, Bal, and GB), they have responded very well. Pittsburgh loss was no different, except for the outcome. That's a little swagger that Favre brings to the team that has been lacking for a LONG LONG time.

...IF you believe they put a man on the moon, man on the moon...

Remember 3 out of the 4 quality wins were against teams without their key players.

SF: Frank Gore

GB (x2): Clifton & Spitz (2 of 5 starting lineman against Jared Allen and the Williams Wall)

This is your year to win. You're pretty healthy, the schedule has been favorable, and you don't have to play at Lambeau when its cold.

I think you will be hard pressed to find any team in a long while that hasn't had a good amount of luck during the season that wins the Super Bowl.I believe the pieces are in place for the Vikings to be one of 3 or so teams in the National Conference to go. There are so many factors involved in winning such as when you play a team, which players are hurt, are you playing at home or on the road that week, or how you match up.And of course a little bit of luck.

Not having Winfield is hardly favorable. Losing Berrian for a couple weeks isn't either. I could go on but hopefully you get the point.

I put Rodgers in the same category as Jake THE SNAKE! Highly touted, but producing squat. Yeah the offensive line isn't the greatest in the world, but that's more of an excuse than anything. Rodgers had time to throw the ball and chose not to, even if it was just throwing the ball away to avoid a sack. All this "Its only his 2nd year" stuff is complete [PoorWordUsage]! He has been around for 5 years, 3 watching and learning from Favre. Guess much didn't sink in,eh? He has been in this offensive scheme for 5 years, its not like he doesn't know where the receivers are going to be. Would a better offensive line help him, of course. Will it make him a superstar, I think not.

Jake Plummer? Really, come on!!! His highest Rating ever was 91.2 in his 7th season. In his second season he had a rating of 75 and in his third a rating of 50.8.

Remember, Favre's second year of starting he had 19 TD's and 24 INT's with a rating of 72.2. I'd rather he take a sack than throw a pick.

Rogers is at 110.2 and has only 2 INT's on the year with 14 TD's.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
